Most of us have been to bridal showers and enjoyed the fun and action that takes place there. But have you ever planned one yourself? A bridal shower is most of the time planned, hosted and sponsored by the close female friends of the bride. Sometimes the mother and mother-in-law may get involved too. Earlier bridal showers were only meant for the brides, but these days couple showers, where both the bride and the groom are invited are becoming very popular.

Consult the Bride-to-be
The first thing in bridal checklist is to talk to the bride regarding the important party details such as what kind of shower she wants, who she wants to invite, whether she wants a couple shower, where she would prefer the shower to be held, which date does she prefer, what kind of food she wants and whether she wants the shower to revolve around a particular theme. With this information, you would be able to set a particular date for the shower, decide upon the guest list and make reservations for the venue of the shower accordingly.

Planning for the Shower
The next thing is to start preparing for the party. For this come up with a definite budget for the shower. Once the budget is fixed, meet up with the other people with whom you are planning this shower and decide upon things such as the party food, bridal shower decorations, party invitations and all other party supplies. When these things are decided, assign everybody with individual tasks, such as; somebody will be responsible for sending out invitations, someone for ordering and getting the bridal shower cake, etc. While assigning tasks, remember to write everything so that later on there is no confusion over who is to do what. Another thing that you should do is to inform all the guests about the date of the shower, especially the guests who stay out of station so that they can keep themselves free and make reservations accordingly.

Start the Preparation
Two weeks prior to the shower, start shopping for the party supplies, decorations and all the other things that you will need. As your shopping list can be pretty long, one of the useful ideas is to write it down first and then venture out shopping. The things that you will be most probably shopping for are food items, beverages, alcohol, party decorations, certain paper goods and placing an order for flowers. Last, but not the least, do not forget to buy a gift from your side for the bride.

Final Touches to the Preparation
A week before the shower, confirm with all the suppliers about the orders placed and the delivery time. Call up the venue to confirm the reservation and to check that everything is in place. If you plan to include certain bridal shower games, start planning for them too. Finally, buy the groceries and food items that will be needed.

Here's a last-minute checklist, for the D-day - Check with your co-hostesses that they are arriving on time and bringing with them whatever has been mutually decided upon. See to it that the food is well prepared, the bar is set nicely, decorations are in place and the seating is according to plan.
