Break The Smokeless Addiction With Hypnosis and NLP

Quitting the addiction to chew has become a necessity because the effects of dip can be devastating. In fact, it is the intelligent thing to do for many more reasons than health alone. This article explains the very best hypnosis and NLP techniques that can be used to make it as painless as possible to break the addiction to smokeless tobacco.
The addiction to smokeless tobacco is easily as dangerous and debilitating as the addiction to smoking. In fact, many experts proclaim that it is even more insidious. Part of the problem is that highly paid sports heroes have glamorized the use of dip. Many have started their habit as early as the age of 9. And by the time that many of these youngsters turn eighteen, they are devastated by throat and mouth cancer, and many are dying.

While a person with lung cancer can look normal, the face of a victim of mouth cancer can be an awful sight. Imagine how a face looks after having a jawbone cut out, or the lips or tongue surgically removed. Usually the surgical butchering of the victim's face is all for nothing, because many die within a year or so anyway.

The experts tell us that the physical addiction to Nicotine is broken after abstaining for seven days. But the psychological part of the addiction is far stronger and may take a much longer time and a lot more effort to overcome, which makes it very difficult to give up smokeless tobacco.

There are three individual components to a dipping habit. Two of the elements are mental, and one part is physical.

Part A: YOU CHEW FOR RELAXATION AND PLEASURE.

When you were an infant and you started crying, your mother would put a bottle into your mouth to distract you from that upset. You would get distracted, become relaxed, and often go to sleep. That scenario was repeated thousands of times so that your unconscious mind was programmed: When something goes into your mouth, you get relaxation and pleasure from it.

Now that you are fully-grown, if you feel upset, you crave something in your mouth for relaxation and pleasure - smokeless tobacco!

Part B: CHEWING TOBACCO IS A CONDITIONED RESPONSE.

Remember Pavlov? He rang a bell every time that he fed his dogs. After a few repetitions, all he had to do was to ring the bell, and the dogs would salivate.

When you link dipping with any other activity, the other activity will trigger cravings for smokeless tobacco and a feeling of urgency to dip tobacco. This is called a conditioned response.

For example: If you dip tobacco when you play baseball, you will automatically get an urge to dip tobacco each time you play baseball.

Here is exactly how this conditioned response gets programmed into your subconscious: If a person chews smokeless and simultaneously drives a car, the mind takes a snapshot of the dip in the hand, and links it to the image of the steering wheel, dashboard, or view out the windshield, etc.. Thereafter, every time the person drives the car, the subconscious mind fills in the missing part of the picture. It flashes an image of the smokeless in the hand coming towards the mouth, and the dipper gets a craving for smokeless tobacco.

You may be unaware of the mental image of the smokeless tobacco, because it may only be at the subconscious level of mind. Just as you are unaware of what you are seeing through your peripheral vision until something draws your attention to it. But the image is there, creating a craving for smokeless tobacco.

Part C: THERE IS A PHYSICAL ADDICTION TO NICOTINE, BUT . . .

I've worked with several thousand people for tobacco addiction and I give you my guarantee that the physical addiction to smokeless tobacco is the weakest part of the smokeless habit. In fact, I believe that it is only ten percent of the addiction to tobacco. 90% of the dipping habit are the mental and emotional parts! (Parts A and B).

HERE IS WHAT THIS MEANS TO A PERSON WHO DIPS AND WHO WANTS TO QUIT.

What this means is that when you eliminate the feeling of tension that pushes you to dip smokeless to create relaxation and pleasure (Part A) . . . and when you erase the conditioned response of feeling a compulsion for dip when watching television, driving, or finishing a meal, etc. (Part B) . . . then you can stop dipping tobacco without the requirement of willpower, and without having to experience withdrawal symptoms or weight-gain.

Self-hypnosis will make it easy to give up dipping because it takes care of Parts A & B! Here is how:

Part A is where you chew smokeless tobacco for relaxation and pleasure. It's our thoughts that create feelings of stress. Moreover, people constantly run mental movies in their mind's eye. If the movie is negative, it causes a feeling of tension.

We can use various hypnosis and NLP techniques to re-program the unconscious mind to quickly and easily take those stress creating mental pictures, and instantly exchange them for relaxation producing mental pictures and movies. This manufactures relaxation and pleasure, and obliterates the stress that causes the oral cravings and compulsions for dipping.

Because of the elimination of stressful feelings, the person who is quitting does not experience the compulsion or need to substitute food in place of the chew. So quitting without weight gain is possible.

Breaking the addiction to smokeless tobacco is very similar to overcoming the addiction to food, cigarettes, and nail biting. I have many additional original articles on these topics in my free NLP & hypnosis article library.

Part B is where people chew smokeless tobacco because dipping becomes a conditioned response to many different activities and locations. Remember in the earlier example how smoking became unconsciously associated with other activities and environments so that each time a person who chews gets into that activity or environment, the mind flashes an image of smokeless tobacco in your hand, and the image of the smokeless tobacco in your hand causes an urge to chew smokeless tobacco?

There are stop smokeless hypnosis, and stop smokeless NLP techniques that can quickly extinguish those conditioned responses so that a person's subconscious mind will lose the cravings for dip, and the compulsion to dip smokeless. As a matter of fact, you can even get a compulsion to reject chewing.

In summation, by using certain hypnotic and NLP techniques, it can be very easy to stop chewing without withdrawal or weight gain. And many of these hypnotic techniques like video self hypnosis and NLP don't even require post-hypnotic suggestions. They depend on programming the subconscious to use the same mental processes that the unconscious mind is using to create the smokeless tobacco habit, to eliminate the mental addiction.
