Pork Chops with Sage Cream Gravy Recipe
Ingredients
- Pork chops, 2 pounds
- Japanese bread crumbs (panko), 1 cup
- Extra virgin olive oil, ¼ cup
- Milk, 2 cups
- Flat leaf parsley, finely chopped, 3 tablespoons
- Heavy cream, ½ cup
- Fresh sage, finely minced, ½ cup
- Eggs, 2
- All-purpose flour, 2½ tablespoons
- Freshly ground black pepper, 2 teaspoons
- Salt to taste
In a medium-sized bowl beat the eggs and 1 cup milk thoroughly so that they are incorporated. In a separate flat dish, break the panko into small crumbs and mix a tablespoon of sage and parsley. Add the salt and pepper to the pork chops. Now dip the seasoned pork chops, first into the egg mixture and then into the Japanese bread crumb mixture to completely coat them. Fry these coated pork chops in olive oil heated over medium flame in a skillet. Once the pork chops have browned, transfer them to a greased baking tray and bake it in a preheated oven at 160 ºC for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, for the gravy heat some more olive oil in the skillet and add the all-purpose flour. Stir the flour in the oil till it becomes golden brown. Now transfer the cream and milk and cook for about 2 minutes. Add the remaining sage and parsley to the skillet and bring the mixture to a boil. Add the salt and pepper to taste and stir for about five minutes. Pour this sauce into a bowl and serve it with the baked breaded pork chops.
Italian Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients
- Pork chops, 1 inch in thickness, 5
- Italian seasoned bread crumbs, 2 cups
- Eggs, lightly beaten, 4
- Garlic cloves, peeled and slivered, 6 to 7
- Parmesan cheese, grated, 1 cup
- Milk, ¼ cup
- Olive oil, 4 to 5 tablespoons
- Dried parsley, 3 tablespoons
Take a small bowl and beat the eggs and milk together to combine them. In another bowl, combine the parley, Italian seasoned bread crumbs and grated parmesan cheese. Now take an iron skillet and heat the olive oil over medium heat. Fry the garlic pieces in the oil till they are browned and transfer them to a separate dish. Coat the pork chops with the egg and bread crumb mixture and cook them in the skillet till they become brown on all sides. Mix the browned garlic with the pork chops and bake it in a preheated oven at 165 ºC for about 30 minutes.
Oven-baked Pork Chops with Stuffing Recipe
Ingredients
- Boneless pork chops, 5 to 6
- Soft bread crumbs, 3 cups
- Medium-sized onion, finely chopped, 1
- Butter or margarine, melted, 5 tablespoons
- Parmesan cheese, shredded, ½ cup
- Cream of mushroom soup, 1 can
- Poultry seasoning, 1 teaspoon
- Freshly ground black pepper, 2 teaspoons
- Water, ½ cup
- Salt to taste
Wash the pork chops in running water and set aside. Take a large bowl and mix the soft bread crumbs, chopped onion, melted butter (or margarine, according to your preference), poultry seasoning and parmesan cheese together. Combine the mushroom soup and water together in a separate bowl. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper and place them in a greased baking tray. Spoon the stuffing on each pork chop and pour the soup mixture on top. Cover the dish with a foil and bake the dish in a preheated oven at 325 ºF for about one hour till the meat becomes tender. This breaded pork chops baked in an oven can be served with pasta.
Grilled Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients
- Bone in center cut pork chops, 8 to 10
- Fresh bread crumbs, 2 cups
- Worcestershire sauce, ¼ cup
- Parmigiano - Reggiano cheese, finely grated, 2 cups
- Creole seasoning, 2 teaspoons
- Olive oil, 1 cup
- Black pepper, 1½ teaspoons
- Salt to taste
Preheat the grill to about 350 ºF. Place the pork chops in a large dish and pour Worcestershire sauce and Creole seasoning. Allow the pork chops to marinate in this mixture for about 5 hours. Marinating it overnight will also be a good option. Toast the bread crumbs in an oven till they dry up. Remove from the oven and transfer them to a shallow bowl and mix cheese, pepper and salt and combine them properly. In a deep skillet, cook the marinated pork chops and dredge them with the bread mixture. Grill these pork chops for about 10 to 15 minutes.
