Brad Pitt Goes Old School with More than Just the ‘Stache'

Brad Pitt is sporting a mustache, not allowing his kids to watch "American" cartoons, and not disclosing the location of his family’s planned holiday getaway.
Brad Pitt, sporting a mustache that we assume he thinks is a throwback to the debonair silver screen stars of yore (Brad, trust us…it’s not) and hooked up with the highest-paid woman in Hollywood in Angelina Jolie is kicking it "old school" style in more ways that one. It seems that Hollywood’s favorite couple, loaded beyond the comprehension of most ordinary folks, don’t really like spending big money on Christmas gifts, instead preferring the homemade variety. Said Pitt, "We do exchange gifts, although we don’t feel any pressure to make them big or expensive gifts."

And if you’re wondering how the diverse brood of six Brangelina kids take to the concept – and how it’s even possible given their likely expectations – Pitt notes a lack of television as the root of his kids’ maturity on the subject. "The kids don’t ask for the big fits for the reason that they don’t see a lot of the American cartoon television, which is packed with all those manipulative commercials for big toys that look so fantastic. When they do see that stuff is when the start asking for the toys, so we figure if they don’t see them, they won’t know they’re there. So we have gifts, but we try to keep the money spent to a minimum."

Sound advice indeed – now, if everyone can simply wrangle up the requisite free time to keep their kids from watching the tube, everyone can take this approach! Pitt went on to describe the homemade gift policy: "The rule is that everyone’s got to make something for someone else, you got to put the time into it. Then, when they give to each other, it’s really sweet." Sweet, indeed.
