Brad Pitt Claims to Have Been Faithful to Jen

It may seem odd so long after the fact, but Brad Pitt, of "Brangelina" fame now that he’s coupled with Angelina Jolie and a brood of six children, has noted recently that he was always faithful to Jennifer Aniston and went so far as to defend her comments. Aniston, who noted that it was "uncool" that Jolie spoke of falling in love with Pitt while the two were filming "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," was apparently dragged into the fray. So notes Pitt anyway, who said, "Jen is a sweetheart. I think she got dragged into that one, and then there’s a second round to all that Angie versus Jen. It’s so created."

Still speaking of Aniston, the 45-year-old Pitt, coming off success with his most recent film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," noted, "She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don’t see how there cannot be. That’s life, man." Pitt also went to lengths to explain that even though he and Aniston were dating at the beginning of filming of the Mr. & Mrs. Smith film, that doesn’t necessarily signal his infidelity.

"What people don’t understand," noted Pitt, "is that we filmed for a year. We were still filming after Jen and I split up. Even then it doesn’t mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn’t. I’m very proud of the way that it was handled. It was respectful." Aniston, who has been recently linked (on and off) with guitarist/singer/songwriter John Mayer, hasn’t yet responded to Brad’s latest media comments.
