Bodybuilding For Women - An Achievable Sport For Women
Bodybuilding is a sport that most people regard as male only. Things are changing and more women are joining this sport.
I wanted to talk to you about bodybuilding for women because this is a sport that is really starting to grow. When it comes to women in this sport it has been going on for an extremely long time. The difference between today and a generation ago is that there isn’t a taboo associated with it. Or at least a taboo that isn’t as bad as it used to be. If you go back to the 70’s the idea of a woman bulking up and putting on muscles was viewed in a very judgmental manner. I’m sure there are people today that don’t like it, but society is generally more accepting and you’re free to pursue this.
Bodybuilding for women is something that is empowering and purposeful. A lot of women that get married and have children lose purpose. I know that children are a purpose, but a human being needs something more than that. As children get older they grow more independent. This has left a lot of mothers trying to kill time in their home. Bodybuilding has helped to fill this void for many women and it has created purpose for them.
Despite the social advancement for women in bodybuilding, there is still a lag when it comes to information. Most of the trainers, informational books, and overall advice are designed for the male body. This can put a lot of women in a difficult state when they’re trying to learn how to get involved and be successful at this sport.
I have some simple advice that is designed for female that you can follow:
Stick to Compound Workouts: A big difference between men and women is the amount of testosterone we produce. As women, we don’t make that much and when it comes to working out we only have so much to go around. Compound exercises allow us to work a lot of muscles at the same time, which enhances our results with limited testosterone. Also, compound exercises have been proven to help the body produce more testosterone on average.
A Very Strict Diet: Yet again men have the luxury of being sloppy with their diet and still getting very good results. We as women don’t have that luxury. Your diet needs to be perfect. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours no matter what. You can’t afford to miss one. Men can get away with it sometimes, but you can’t as a female.
This should help you get started in this sport. Bodybuilding for women doesn’t have to be taboo or difficult. You can start today if you want. All you need is some weights to start and a diet to follow.
