Men are often confused when it comes to dealing with excess body hair. Removing unsightly hair is no more a problem as there are several options available. Removing embarrassing hair, that lowers your confidence, can be easily achieved. Here are some options for removing male body hair.

Trimming

This is one of the simplest solutions for body hair removal for men. Also known as shaving, it is commonly practiced for removing facial hair, chest hair and abdominal hair. Razors, either electric or conventional, are used to remove body hair. The trimmers work really well to eliminate unwanted hair. Before trimming, a lubricating agent like gel, soap or cream is applied on the skin to prevent razor cuts. A shaving brush with long, soft bristles is used for applying these lubricating agents. In case of electric trimmers, hair can be removed quickly and you are likely to get fewer skin cuts. Usually, electric trimming does not require the application of any lubricating agent to be effective. Side effects of trimming include skin irritation that can be minimized by using an after shave lotion.

If the above method is not helpful for removing unwanted hair, then you can use the techniques mentioned below. These methods have been extremely effective in getting rid of body hair.

Waxing

Waxing is an inexpensive way to get rid of unwanted hair. You will need a waxing kit and cheese cloth or strips of cotton, which are available at various drug stores. This treatment is indeed very effective in removing body hair. This is a temporary hair removal technique. New hair will not appear for 2 to 5 weeks in the waxed area. The procedure starts by applying hot wax to the area from where you want to remove your hair. Now place the cloth or wax paper on the top of the hot wax. This is followed by pressing the cloth against the skin and then ripping it off. This method eliminates the hair from its root. You may experience some pain, post treatment. To relieve the pain, you can apply moisturizing products.

Sugaring

Even though this procedure is similar to waxing, it is less painful and that is why many prefer to use this method to remove body hair. In this method, instead of wax, a type of sugar paste is used for application on the desired area. The sugar paste consists mostly of lemon, sugar and water.

Electrolysis

To remove body hair permanently, electrolysis is the best option. In order to use this method, you will have to take the help of a professional electrologist. This process of body hair removal uses an electric current that is delivered into each hair follicle with the help of a fine needle shaped electrode or a metal probe. Although this method is time consuming, it achieves good results. This method used for removing male body hair should be performed correctly, otherwise it might damage the skin. Skin discoloration is likely to occur if the procedure is not done properly. Electrolysis is an expensive procedure compared to other hair removal methods. It may take months and several sessions for completely removing hair from a body part.

Laser Treatment

This is the newest method for removing body hair. This form of treatment uses laser beams to destroy hair follicles responsible for causing hair growth. Although the laser beam does destroy these follicles permanently, the surrounding skin tissue may also get affected.

These are some of the options available for removing male body hair. These techniques will surely help you get rid of hair from the desired area.
