Brown, 39, has reportedly been promoting his new tell-all autobiography Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But… in which he dishes on his life with New Edition, his marriage to Houston, and his drug abuse. He claims that his marriage to Houston led him down the wrong path of drugs. He writes in the book, "I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney. Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice." He said that his marriage to Houston was "doomed from the very beginning." Brown claims that he was in love with Houston, but she only married him because of the speculation about her sexuality. He said she wanted to get married and have a child to "kill all speculation."
The couple married in 1992 and had their daughter Bobbi Kristina shortly after their marriage. Brown, a former member of New Edition, went solo and had three platinum albums. Houston was at the height of her career. Their marriage was rocky and filled with rumors of infidelity, drug abuse, and physical abuse. The couple finally called it quits last Aril after 15 years of marriage.
Houston’s rep said, "Miss Houston is sad that Bobby feels he needs to say such things, but she chooses to take the high road and will not speak badly about the father of her child even if it’s to set the record straight." Houston, 44, is reportedly drug free and trying to resurrect her career. Brown has appeared on reality shows such as Being Bobby Brown and Gone Country.
