Bobby Brown Suing Whitney Houston

Brown filed the documents in Orange County, California and is seeking shared custody of the couple’s 14-year old daughter, Bobbi Kristina, as well as child and spousal support. Brown, 40, claims that he did not respond to Houston’s divorce petition due to "financial and emotional problems." Brown said, "After Whitney and I separated, I had nowhere to go and very little money to live on. I was, for all intents and purposes, homeless." Brown also claims that he was "distraught and depressed" over the split and said that Houston said she would give him six-months to respond to the claim and to see if they could work things out between them.

He now says that when Houston requested a default judgement in order to get a quicker divorce he was "shocked" and "could not believe it." Houston won custody of their daughter and said that Brown was "unreliable." Brown said in his court documents, "I believe I have a wonderful relationship with my daughter Bobbi Kris – a relationship that I would like to see strengthen and grow." He claims that Houston has said that their pre-nuptial agreement bans spousal support and said that he does not have a copy.

Brown has not had luck on his side lately and claims that Bravo refused to do another season of his reality show, Being Bobby Brown because of his split with Houston. He was also arrested in March for failure to pay child support and spent a few days in jail. Houston and Brown were married in June 1992 and had a very rocky relationship riddled with rumors of drug abuse, physical abuse, and infidelity. Houston was reportedly so addicted to drugs that she stopped performing for years. Since her split from Brown last September, Houston has allegedly been getting her life back in order and is set to make a comeback. And Brown seems to want to ride her coattails for as long as possible…
