Blythe Danner Squashes Gwyneth Paltrow Break-Up Rumors

Recently it has been rumored that Paltrow and Martin are ready to call it quits on their almost five year marriage. Danner slammed the reports saying, "Good god, it’s just so tragic that people have to make stuff up. I’ve never seen two happier parents - or people – so I don’t get it." The couple married in December 2003 and has two children. Danner said of her grandchildren, "They’re pretty fabulous. Yesterday my little grandson says, ‘Don’t go! Don’t go!’ You just don’t get that kind of love from everybody."

Paltrow met Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, after one of his concerts in October 2002. The two quickly hit it off and began dating. They were married in December 2003 and their daughter Apple was born in May 2004. They welcomed son, Moses, in April 2006. Paltrow’s relationship with Martin has been dogged with break-up rumors almost from the start, but they have constantly battled the rumors.

Paltrow was hospitalized overnight in January 2008. At the time, it was rumored that she was pregnant with the couple’s third child. Her publicist, Stephen Huvane, said at the time that the pregnancy rumors were "guesswork at best." He added, "This is a private matter not for public consumption." Mario Batali, a friend of Paltrow’s, revealed that the actress was suffering from a "gastrointestinal situation." He added, "It's now been straightened out. She's [doing] great." Paltrow and Batali are starring in a new series set to air on PBS called Spain … on the road again along with New York Times food columnist Mark Bittman, and Spanish actress Claudia Bassols. The show will focus on the country’s wine, cuisine, culture, and nightlife.
