Blood Slave: The Great Escape (Chapter 1)
A dinner party.

I pulled down the sleeve of my dress, as I heard someone coming. I peeked through the golden bars of my prison, and saw John appear at the bottom of the marble stairs. He trotted over to my cell and produced a key. I backed away from the bars. He turned the key and pulled open the door. "Come!" He demanded. I obeyed. He had already done his job from the night, so the only reason he would have had to come back was to prep me for Lord Smith. He connected my leash and pulled me upstairs to the main floor. He then took me straight to my washroom upstairs. As we entered,I saw that one of the vampire servants had already prepared my bath. She was standing beside the tub. She looked up as John began to speak. "Bridgit, dressed her down. " John told the girl, as he pushed me towards her. "Yes, sir." She nodded. Bridgit took my leash and guided me over to the side of the over sized tub. The steam billowed up toward my face as I looked at the scalding water. "Now, be real still deary." She mumbled, as she stripped away my thin gown. John came over and lifted me off the ground, then settled me into the tub. I clenched my teeth as the water sang my alabaster skin, turning it light pink. I was never allowed to step into the tub by myself. Lord Smith was always afraid I'd get hurt. "Wash her up. I'll be back with her clothes." John said over his shoulder, as he left. "Yes, sir." Bridgit replied.
She did as asked. She gave me the quickest, most thorough bath of my life. When John returned with my clothes, he was surprised to see me washed and dried, and waiting for him at the vanity. He handed Bridgit my chemise, corset, drawers, and slip. She put them on me. This took at least a half an hour. I was bored out of my mind, as they fussed over me. Then finally they both slipped on my gown. It was deep red silk, with golden flowers and swirls embroidered into the top. It shimmered in the candle light. But even though it was beautiful, I hated it. It was thick, and I was very hot. Bridgit fanned me, as John fixed my hair and makeup. He piled my red wavy hair on top of my head, and painted my lips with deep red paint. I was then taken up to my master's room. John quickly shoved me inside and slammed the door. Lord Smith wasn't there, so I stood as still as a statue and waited. Soon he came around the corner, tying back his long black hair.
"Hello Rose." He smiled. I curtsied stiffly. "We are attending a dinner this morning, with the Cruz and McNail families. "He explained. He tied the bow on the back of his head, and putting his hands down at his sides, he looked at me with a cocked brow. My teeth clenched. (Is something wrong?) I thought. He pursed his lips then reached for my head. I tensed. He pulled the pins out of my hair. "I don't know way John insists on, put your hair up? I like down." He grumbled, as it spilled down into my face. "They're, much better." He hissed triumphantly. "Let's go then." He said, taking my leash in hand.
Lord Smith quickly strode into the dinning hall. I scurried behind, trying to keep up. "Hello, my dear friends! It's very nice to have you here, this fine morning!" He shouted. He took his seat at the head of the table. My seat was a giant red pillow placed at his feet. "Sit." He hissed. I quickly dropped to the ground. "Are we hungry?" He asked the guests. All six of the McNail children nodded eagerly, as did their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Cruz sat quietly. They had no children. They were pompous, rich, and snooty. But weren't they all? "Alright then." Lord Smith said, clapping his hands loudly. A dozen vampire servants rushed in with plates of food, and a few feeders. The children cheered, Lord Smith rolled his eyes. When everyone had their plates, the chatter began. I observed the room. I noticed that the Cruz's had a blood slave with them. I was a little shocked because he was male. I had never seen a male feeder, let alone a blood slave. I was even more shocked to find that he had the same hair color as myself! I looked away from him for a second when I heard, "Is that your little red blood slave?" From Mr. McNail. "Yes. This is Crimson Rose." Lord Smith smiled. "Is she fixed?" Mrs. Cruz asked. "No, no. She has not yet started her monthly bleeds. But when she does. I was hoping to breed her with another red before she died." He explained.
I hated when they talked about me in this manner, but there was nothing I could have done about it. "Oh my, fantastic!" She squealed. "Do you think you'd want to breed them?" Mr. Cruz asked, referring to their slave. I looked over at the male, then up at my master. He was looking back down at me. I could see something in his eyes, something I didn't like. Then he looked away. "I might think on it." He replied. "May we examine her?" Mr. Cruz asked. "Yes, of course." Lord Smith exclaimed. "Go see Mr. Cruz, Rose." He told me. I stood and walked over to the fat man. The male slave on the floor made a deep rumble in his throat. "Hush, Antares!" Mrs. Cruz snapped. Mr. Cruz checked my teeth, hair, and eyes. "She is a very good girl, and a beautiful animal." He said to my master. Lord Smith nodded. "She's smart too." Mrs. Cruz added. "She came right to Albert." Mr. Cruz chuckled at that. "Alright, go on back to your master now." Mr. Cruz told me slowly. I walked back and sat down beside Lord Smith, in disgust. He patting my head and fed me a bite of lamb.
Later in the morning, as the dinner came to a close, Lord Smith said his goodbyes to everyone. Then he lead me back to the basement. "I really do hate those people." He whispered, mostly to himself. Bridgit, the young vampire girl who had helped to get me ready, was waiting at my cage. As we approached the cage she began to speak rapidly. "John told me to come down here... cause... cause... I guess the person who helps ready Crimson Rose has to dress her down before dawn, sir." I heard Lord Smith make a sound that sounded something like choking, and then he shoved me at her. "Stop babbling! I know the routine. I suggested it. And if I were you I'd make it quick, because the sun is coming. If you take too long you'll burn up." He snapped at her. The last part sound to me like he cared a little about her well-being, and it seemed that way to her too. "Thank you, your lordship. I will hurry, promise." She smiled.
He winked at her, as he turned and left. That diluted any of my thoughts about his caring for her. While she thought that the wink was charming, I knew better. He just wanted to bed the girl. She turned me around and began to strip me down, as earlier. "Lord Smith is such a nice man. He is better to his servants then most royalty. I used to work at the palace. They're a cruel lot." I didn't really understand why on earth this girl would think Lord Smith to be a "nice man" until later on when I saw real cruelty. She stripped me down to my slip and stockings. This was an every morning thing. Then she lead me into my cell and locked the door behind me. I shuffled over to my plush bed, and snuggled under sheets. Soon I started to wonder about that male slave and what Mr. Cruz had said. (Is Lord Smith going to make me mate with him?) I asked myself, clenching my thighs together tightly. I closed my eyes and pulled the blanket over my head, wishing I were dead.
"Wake up, Rose!" Someone yelled. I slowly opened my eyes. "Crimson Rose!" The person yelled again. I sat up. John was standing at the foot of my bed, with his hands on his hips. "Lord Smith wants you in his room immediately, so get up!" He snapped, with a scowl. I jumped out of bed quickly. "That's more like it." He grinned, attaching my leash. We went through the normal routine. He fed me, walked me, bathed me, and dressed me. Then he took me to Lord Smith. Usually on nights when the lord saw me, it was so that he could feed. But when I walked into his room on this night, it looked like he was planning on far more than just feeding. There were candles everywhere, and one of the vampire servants was standing in the corner playing a violin.
My eyes widened when I noticed him on the bed. As I had assumed he would, he was bedding Bridgit. John pushed the door shut behind me, and I was then trapped in the room with the fornicating vampires. I did not enjoy in the lest, being in the same room when this was happening, and I immediately felt sorry for the violin player. I felt sick listening to their bodies clash, and their vampiric growls of pleasure. Lord Smith soon finished, and noticed me standing near the door. "Hello Rose. I'm sorry, I didn't see you there." He said, as he got up from the bed wiping clean his male part. Bridgit grabbed her dress and held it over her small beasts as she walked toward the door. "I was just finishing a little business with Miss. Carson." He chuckled, before she ran out giggling herself. He slipped on his red robe then he held out his smooth pale hand to me. His dark eyes glittered with mischief. "Dance with me, Rose," he hissed.
My stomach tightened in disgust, but I hesitantly took his hand. He tugged me over to the middle of his room, and began to move us in circles. I felt sick. He was touching me with the hands he just defiled his young servant with. I was also deeply afraid of having my face so close to his. As a child I would imagine him biting my face off with his fangs. So you can imagine how frightened I was. "Rose, my dear, I realized something yesterday morning after dinner." He whispered in my ear. I fell bile rise in my throat, and tears come to my eyes. He was too close. His teeth were so close to my face! "There will never be another like you, and I can't have that. I need you. You complete me. You are the salt to my pepper, the sugar to my tea, the blood to my veins..." He hissed, grabbing my arm and kissing my wrist. He looked into my eyes, finally, and realized I was crying. "Why are you crying my little Rose." He murmured mockingly. I shook my head. "Are you afraid?" He asked. I nodded. "There is no reason to fear, my love. Soon everything with be just fine." He grinned evilly. I sucked in a breath. (What is he going to do?!) I asked myself.
He held my wrist still, pressing it to his cheek. "Be still." He growled. Then suddenly he bit the soft unscared flesh of my wrist. I screamed out in pain. I could feel my blood pouring out and something else pumping in. Something that stung and burned. The hand he did not have a hold of, flew in the air and knocked him in the head. I had hit him with such force, that he fell away from me, in shock. I was shocked myself. I couldn't believe I had hit him. I backed towards the door. I didn't understand why I was doing this. I had never tried to run. Even if I thought of running, I knew I wouldn't get far, because vampires were so fast.
I grabbed the door knob. Lord Smith heard my nails hit the cool hard metal. His head swiftly shoot up. "Don't you dare!" He roared. I quickly, without another thought, ran out of the door slamming it behind me. I ran down the hall like lightning, holding up my red velvet dress. I thundered down the two sets of stairs, losing my shoes. As I reached the entrance, I paused and looked back. I didn't see anyone coming after me. My last thought, before running out the French doors, was (I'm going to be severely punished for this.) Then I was gone. I ran as fast as I could across the yard and into the woods, and I never stopped. I didn't even know where I was or where I was going, but I knew if I stopped I'd be caught.
