Blood Pt 2
What happens in a world where humans are not the strongest? Sorry this part is kind of boring but here it is!
"I am a half-blood too." Chase whispered into my ear before disappearing off of the bus leaving me behind bewildered.
The rest of the day went by pretty normal. Well, besides the fact that I did not see Chase once since we spoke on the bus. I tried to casually bring up his absence in a conversation with my friend, Tara but as usual she knew exactly what I was thinking.
"Chase MARCSON?!" She asked excitedly... She can get just a little over the top sometimes. "Uh...Ya. Any other Chase I might know about?" I asked with a raised brow. She giggled (she does that A LOT) then said. "No... So, you like him?" "No!" I said a little too quickly. This time it was Tara’s turn to raise an eyebrow. "I was just asking because he saved my life this morning." I explained. She faked a swoon but failed miserably when she was consumed by another fit of giggles. "Tara, it’s not like that! Listen!" I pulled her into a doorway where no one would overhear us.
"He is a half blood too. He knew exactly what I was talking about when I told him about...Everything." Her eyes widened at this. "You TOLD him? EVERYTHING?" "He saved my life Tara, what was I supposed to do after that? Besides he was already suspicious." I was getting defensive; I heard it but could do nothing about it. "Okay just... Are you sure he won’t go and blab your secret out to everybody? I’m not trying to sound rude or anything, I’m just concerned." "I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t do that. He’s the same as me so I seriously doubt it. Can we talk about this later? We are going to be late and Mr. Anderson will kill us!" We walked down the empty hall and hurried to class.
I did not see Chase once for the rest of the day. It was kind of a letdown. I finally find someone like me and he off and disappears!
I don’t usually use my wings when traveling because I’m usually with someone like Tara when I go anywhere and well... You can see that things would not work if I was flying at over 100 miles per hour and whoever it happened to be was walking at 3 or 4 miles per hour. But today I was upset and did not want to be near anyone so I spread my auburn wings and took off running and shortly after, I was airborne. The rush of air past my ears and through my hair was exhilarating. I found myself laughing amidst my misery. It was almost impossible to be upset while flying, it was just so electrifying. I love it.
