Blood on the Moon - Chapter Seven (Part A)
Notice the Part A? Based on the last poll from Chapter Six, I have decided to let Sandira die in one chapter seven (part A) and live in the other (part B). And the eight and final chapter will be a continuation of the parts it belongs to. So there will be two more of that. So enjoy!
Avan's POV
I watched as Ksenia grew more feral and fierce. Her normally blue eyes turned a strange yellow hue. Wolf eyes. She growled and her teeth sharpened. Sandira looked up at the sound. Her eyes widened. They were filmed over with insanity. Her eyes jumped everywhere.
Sandira had hide it so well... I cursed myself. If I had known, none of this would have ever happened. You wouldn't have met Ksenia, I tell myself.
"My baby," Sandira squealed in delight. I groaned in pain. I so did not want to hear a squeal with my vampire senses.
Ksenia's eyes flickered to me and something in those eyes made me panic. The hollowness. Her eyes were void of emotion. She didn't look to see anything.
Joshua read her body language though. When, he shifted toward her, I turned my attention toward her body. Not very difficult, if you ask me.
It was aggressive and tense. She was about to lunge. I pushed to my feet, ignoring the pain. Ksenia, the one I know, wouldn't ever want to kill.
Sandira took a step forward. Ksenia moved light a vampire - at the speed of light. One second she stood at the front of the living room and the next she had Sandira in a tight grip.
Sandira gasped and looked helplessly around. She wouldn't kill her daughter, I suppose.
"Ksenia, don't do this." I told her in a low soothing voice. She didn't look at me but her back stiffened.
"Avan's right," Joshua said in the same voice.
Ksenia's reply came in a low grumbled out whisper, "Don't tell me what to do."
Joshua took a step toward her and I felt a twinge of jealousy as she turned her head to look at him with helpless yellow eyes. Not this time, I told myself.
"Sen, please, don't do this." He pleaded.
"She killed Monroe!" Grief barely hidden, it appeared in the wolf's eyes.
"We can put her in jail for that. You know, AJV. A Jail for Vampires." He was joking. Normally Ksenia would respond with a tiny laugh but not at the moment.
"An eye for an eye, Joshy," She whispered and then, snapped Sandira's neck. Ksenia's mother fell to the floor with a heavy thud.
