I shoved on my plain white tank top that clung to my skin, my ashy grey jean shorts. I strapped on my two belts that carried almost all my weapons, one belt hung around my waist and the other over my shoulder and across my chest.

I walked over to my desk and pulled out the first drawer, six silver guns laid there. Remembering my training with Demetri, with guns, other weponry and combat, I'd thought it was a nightmare when he trained me, but now I was eternally grateful. I loaded each of them with special bullets that could kill or severly injure any beast that wasn't human. I admired a gun that had always stood out for me, the gun with two words engraved on the side, Black Rose.

I snapped out of my daze and strapped on a gun on each arm then put on my black leather bomber jacket that only reached my belly button but covered the emergency guns for whenever I couldn't get to my belts. I shoved the remaining guns in the belt arond my waist. I quickly opened the second drawer and I grabbed the four daggers out. I hastily strapped on a dagger on my right leg and shoved on my black socks that reached above my knees. This stuff would be a nightmare if it wasn't for Annelise teaching me how to keep all my weapons without a bag.

I rushed over to the "wardrobe", well that was Demetri and Annelise called it. I groaned nearly every time I opened it, it was seriously too much. It was like another room was built within my room. I grabbed a black pair of sneakers sitting under the clothes that hung on the racks and put them on. I ran over to the cabinet next to the desk, grabbed three bottles and some bandages out. One was a healing potion, another one was a poison that couldn't harm humans but was life threatening to anything that wasn't. The last was a vanishing potion, enough for four. It made one's presence and smell invisible to anyone and anything. I shoved the two first potions into the belt across my chest and then shoved the bandages into my pocket. After that I tipped three quarters of the vanishing potion into three test tubes, put a cork in each one to keep the potion from falling out and shoved them into my belt across my chest. I drank the rest of the golden colored potion unwillingly because it tasted bitter and revolting.

I skipped down the stairs swiftly and saw that Annelise was cleaning the living room even though it was already clean. Her back was to me, but she would never look any different than she did now, her shoulder length forest brown hair would stay that way, her big grey eyes that never told you what she felt and her adult beautiful woman face. But I quickly ceased analyzing Annelise, when my attention was stolen away by the beautiful man that stood near Annelise. Demetri, I smiled to myself after just seeing him. He was facing me and standing beside the bookshelf murmuring to Annelise, but he quickly stopped when he noticed me.

"Lexi, I really don't think you should go but I know no one could stop you if they tried once you set your mind on something." Inside my mind I sighed with relief when I heard his soothing beautiful voice. His perfectly structured face smiled at me kindly as he ran his fingers through his smooth stylishly messy sandy blonde hair with light brown highlights. I smiled sadly when my eyes met his beautiful honey gold eyes that were slightly tinted blue, they were always kind but somehow sad beneath too, I quickly laughed it off.

"Yeah, I know, I know. Demetri are you going out for work again tonight?" I asked nervously but hid it with curiousity. Demetri never told me where he worked but somehow the gate allowed him to pass between the worlds.

"Yeah and don't make any trouble for Annelise." I sighed, I hated it when he treated me like a little girl. Demetri smiled to the side, it was a cruel yet beautiful smile and it made my heart pound inside my chest. Blood rushed to my face making my cheeks peach pink, as Demetri tucked a lock of my hair behind my ear and left his hand on my face, but he quickly dropped it.

"Be careful, okay? And remember don't let them talk you into anything." I nodded repeatedly, having heard this almost a thousand times already, but I never really understood why any of the creatures I hunted would need to talk to me.

"Okay. Bye Demetri." I mumbled, unsatisfied and confused. He chuckled at me darkly as I pouted.

"Goodnight. I'll see you soon." He murmured softly between chuckling. I waved at him and he disappeared before my eyes. I also hated when he could vanish into thin air so easily in front of me. I slumped over to Annelise, looking for comfort. I dropped my head on her shoulder, so she stood still and stroked my head.

"He doesn't trust me." I sulked to her. I faced her and stared at her pale expressionless face that didn't change, but I knew she worried for me the most.

"That's not true. You know Miss.Lexi, Master Demetri will always trust you. He just has things he doesn't want to let you know because he knows it's the best for you. You are the one doubting him right now." I groaned, she immediately supported me from standing so I shook my head to deny it.

"I'm not sick, Annelise." I muttered ungratefully.

"Then what is wrong, Miss.Lexi?" She asked, her tone confused but not her face. I smiled in defeat.

"It's annoying when you're always right Annelise. Well I have to go, Lucas is waiting for me." I waved goodbye and headed out the mansion. The sky was black with the white full moon that floated above, but the streets were lit with street lights lit by fire. Once I walked on to the streets I saw that it was full of the residents that lived around here. Vampires, lycanthropes, demons, serpants. Basically, dark creatures of the shadows.

"Good evening, Alexia." A beautiful lady greeted me politely. A vampire. She wore a silky ivory, knee high strapless dress that clung to her skin, showing off her curves. I was sure she was either off to one of those noble vampire clubs in town or either going to find a meal. I nearly scoffed at her.

The only reason she didn't attempt to kill me now was that as far as she knew I was a vampire like her, not only because I had no smell or presence of a human, but also no one really questioned my identity, of course it was only because of Demetri's protection over me, though I never knew why. I smiled politely.

"Hello Miss.Victoria. You look pretty tonight." I greeted back.

"Thank you. Well, I must get going. Have a good night." She smiled smugly, her eyes glinted of pride and pleasure from the simple compliment. I nodded and quickly left for the gates to the human world.
