Blood and Love: Chapter Three

Just read... Comments are appreciated (I don't mind, hate comments... I find most hilarious! I do like nice comments. They make me happy!) Also I've decided this is kind of gonna be a mystery but more a love story.
***Ashton's POV***

God damn! I didn't wipe the idiot's mind. She stared up at me with curious cat green eyes. Her blond hair hung around her shoulders like a curtain. Caleste is pretty, I decided. She has a different attitude about things that Marissa could never have had. More wise. A good sense of right and wrong. From that information I decided she might as well know everything.

"So." She began as silence enveloped us, "What are you."

"To be frank, I don't think you'd understand." I said this to see her reaction. Marissa would have clenched her hands in fists only barely resisting the urge to hit me. A stab of pain in my heart at the thought but I found it lessened if I paid attention to her motions. Her face turned thoughtful.

"I suppose I wouldn't," she said and I grinned. A totally different reaction. "But, I want to." I nodded. We stood in the hall of the west side of the school and people came along to stare at the tall long-legged blonde with an even taller black-haired guy. Both beautiful in their own way.

Caleste glowed with light and it was a wonder that she was still a virgin. I smirked at the thought and she glared.

"You're thinking of the fact I'm a virgin." She said and I grinned.

"I have a question. You answer truthfully and I'll tell you everything." I told her and she rolled her eyes.

"Shoot."

"I read your mind yesterday." She rolled her eyes again, "What did you mean when you thought you didn't find the concept in the twilight saga attractive?"

"Hmm. The vampire and human relationship. It's creepy." She says and I smile. I had thought she would say that. I'm becoming a master at reading her despite the fact I can read her mind, "You knew I would say that!"

"Can you read my mind?" I faked seriousness. She grinned and laughed. I felt my breath catch at the sight of her open happiness. I ignored it.

"Enough of this total weirdness. What is your schedule? I check if you have any classes with me," she explained at my questioning look. "Have you ever been to school?" She asked.

"No. I was born before schools were given. I had a master though. I was destined to become a hunter of my village. Or maybe not." I told her considering the truth of this.

"How old are you?" She asked. I didn't know.

"I don't know the exact age but I only started counting when I met Marissa." I passed her my schedule and she glanced over it.

"We have two classes together." She told me and walked away instinctively. She guessed my mood at Marissa's name.

***Caleste's POV***

"Cale!" Rose called. Rose is my smartest and most talkative friend. She came in second to my best friend, Kanisha.

"Hmm?" I question glancing up from a worksheet Mrs. Alistone had given the class. We were able to work with a partner and because of the odd number I was in a group of three.

"I heard you were talking to that Ashton guy." Rose said and I nearly corrected her to say that it's Asheteke. I was finally able to say it without a mumble. Kanisha flicked her black bangs again.

"You should cut your bangs." I told Kanisha and she glared at me.

"Stop dodging the subject!"

"Like you're dodging this subject," I held up the paper. Rose and Kanisha looked at each other.

"Exactly." They said in unison. I rolled my eyes.

"Nothing much happened. We just talked about our schedule and school." I tell them. Though it's not exactly a lie, I still felt bad.

"Really?" Rose said with a deflated air. I nodded and solved a problem. They copied me. Rose may be smart but she uses her brains and good red-haired looks for evil. It was evil as I saw it. Kanisha just doesn't try. I smiled fondly at them.

***Ashton's POV***

I kept my eye on the witch. Her name was Rose. She, I could tell, was good friends with Caleste. She had red hair and sparkling gem blue eyes. I had been told that she knew a spell to put a changeling to sleep. It may not be death but sleep is better than consciousness. I'll consider myself dead. Rose came up to me at the end of the day.

"You're Ashton the Father of Vampires. A changeling." She said boldly. I had to admire the idiot. She was aware I can snap her neck in an instant but she was confidant in her sleep spell.

"Yes." I said and she was caught off-guard. She'd expected me to weasel out of the situation.

"Okay," she said regaining her calm. "Stay away from Cale. She's human. She may look like Marissa but she isn't anything like that self-centered bitch."

For the sake of the witch's life and her use to me I concentrate on a question.

"What is Caleste like?" I ask and she's again caught off-guard. She expected me to walk away to spare the secret. We were in an open area where students milled around.

"S-she's amazing. She's sweet, kind, athletic, and smart. She's a million times better than your dead Marissa. And your evil sister, Maya."

I freeze in fury. Without meaning to my changeling powers increase and the sound of glass breaking tickles our ears.

"Jevecht Ita Maya Miaromi." I go back to my maiden language. An undiscovered language and Rose freezes in fear. What I said was, "Don't talk about my baby sister, Maya." I stride away. No doubt she thinks I cursed her with old magic of my destroyed village.

***Caleste's POV***

I had been under the glass rainfall. I was being the cliched blonde as I thought about Ashton. I didn't hear it and, heck, I didn't feel it until Rose rushed up to me and my confused expression.

Now I sit in the nurses room. School had been let out and only three people were in the room as the nurse, Debbie left to get stitches for my arm.

Me, Paul, and Rose, who had determinedly stayed with me. She pressed a towel to stop the bleeding, to my arm. Paul, another victim, laid snoozing on a leather bed with that crappy paper that tore if you moved on it wrong. I sat on a padded couch with Rose.

"Stay away from Ashton. He isn't what you think he is." She told me in all seriousness. I frowned. Did she know what he is? Heck, I forgot to ask him.

"Um, I need an answer to what he really is for me to stay away." I told her with the same amount of seriousness.

She sighed. "He's a changeling. It's a second race to vampires. Well they're rare. He's special though. He's the Father of Vampires. He and his sister, Maya, are evil. So stay away."

"How do you know all this?" I asked her and she sighed again.

"I'm a witch."

Hope you enjoyed! I'm having a lot of fun with this. I hope you like it as much as I do. I have a question. Have you read my "Blood on the Moon" story? If you have answer in a comment. Should Ksenia and Avan's world be the same one, Ashton and Caleste are in?
Did you like the story?
Yes. It's really good.
Nope. It's crap.
Whatever.
