Blinded - Ch. 9
So so so sorry it took this long
I know I know I said as soon as I got six comments I'd post another one. Sorry it took forever after the sixth comment! So I'll just post ch 10 asap to make it up to you guys. Please comment anyway though! I love reading them and if you do maybe I'll include your name as a new character :)
What am I supposed to do? I'm so confused! Why do I feel so conflicted. This should be straight forward and easy, why is it so hard to choose. I feel like a slut, having to choose between two COUSINS! Erg I'm such a brat. I feel so bad, but I can't choose! Is it normal to like two guys at the same time?
Monday morning I was about to leave for school when I heard a car horn outside. I walked out and Adam was there to pick me up in his car. It was unexpected but i took the offer. When we got out of his car he put his arm around me and walked me to my first class. I didn't know how to react. Then at lunch he had me sit with him and his friends. He bought me lunch and briefly held my hand. His friends accepted me and once referred to me as Adam's girlfriend. Hmm....
When he dropped me off at home I hesitated before getting out of the car, thinking about ways to ask him what was going on. Suddenly he reached over to me and buried his hand in my hair. He pulled my head towards him and suddenly his lips were against mine. He smelled like cologne and was insistent on getting his tongue in my mouth. I kissed him back, and we sat in the car, kissing, for several minutes. When we stopped he smiled at me, unlocked the car door, and I hopped out. He drove away as I walked up to the door. Now what do I do?
The next couple of weeks went by quickly. Adam picked me up everyday and everyday was the same ritual, walk me to class, hold my hand, drive me home, kiss me goodbye. Sometimes he would also sneak a kiss in at school too. I wasn't sure how I felt about all of this. We never declared us official, so was he my boyfriend? I was so confused.
At home, though, Jake stopped speaking to me. Adam kept me longer after school so I was home a lot less. When I was home he avoided me and I avoided him. I didn't know how to talk to him anymore and I felt like a traitor if I told him I was kind of dating his cousin.
Friday night Jake and I were left home alone again. Adam had to help plan the homecoming dance, so he was busy, and I didn't feel like going out anyway. Jake was sitting and reading a Braille book, and I watched him as he read. I loved watching him smile slightly at a joke in the book or furrow his brow at something he didn't understand. I was sitting next to him, watching tv. He knew I was there, but chose not to speak to me. That was fine, since I still didn't know what to say.
Suddenly the doorbell rang. We didn't often get visitors, so I was curious as to who it could be. I let Jake know where I was going and he followed me to the front door, also curious.
When I opened the door, Adam was standing there with his hands behind his back. Confused, I stepped back to let him in.
"Hey Adam, what are you doing here I thought you had to help with the homecoming stuff?"
"Well technically I'm doing homecoming stuff now."
"Hmm how? You're on my front porch."
"This is why..."
He pulled his hands out from behind his back and in them was a bouquet of flowers. I was holding Jake's hand originally to translate but as soon as I saw the flowers I dropped his hand and gasped. Jake turned to me confused as Adam got down on one knee.
"Sabine Christensen will you go to the homecoming dance with me and be my girlfriend? It would be the greatest honor to be able to call you mine"
I was shocked by this sudden action. Jake startled me when he grabbed my hand and asked me what was going on. I let him know really quick and took my hand back. He grunted and started walking back to the family room.
I watched him walk away briefly and turned back to Adam who was waiting for my response.
"Thank you Adam for asking me. I would love to go with you except I already have a date. Thank you though."
At that I closed the door and walked over to Jake and entwined my fingers through his.
Jake's POV
She came back.
