Bleed For You

A dark poem of lost love and a bleeding heart.
Thoughts are flowing through my mind,
Like endless reels of silent film,
I watch them slip away again,
Just like you did so long ago,
Black and white, they're out of focus,
Sodden by my streaming tears,
They hide behind shaded shadows,
To permeate my darkest fears.

And I fear nothing's going to change,
As I tumble blindly through my days,
Trying to remember a happier life,
So long ago and so far away,
A relic from a distant past,
An ancient hieroglyphic scripture,
Left in ancient trodden dust,
Which no one knows how to decipher.

Lost in a daze of dizzy melancholy,
Dredging blood clots from my heart,
I tear my soul to ease the pain,
All happiness, your memory thwarts,
My emotions spiral to an all time low,
Despair has numbed them well,
I raise and drain my glass in toast,
And bid you a fond farewell.

On my knees, I grab the razor,
Slashing madly at my wrists,
Bleed, oh bleed, I'll bleed for you,
I'll bleed my blood of crimson red,
I'll bleed until I'm saturated,
Until my heart stops beating life,
And when you read my obituary,
I hope that you'll be satisfied.
