Bitten Wings Part 7

Angel comes face to face with another one..but he's different.. how can he stand in plain sight? How can he stand in the sun?
"Angel! Angel, would you wake up?!" someone was shaking my bed, their voice cutting through my nightmares. I cracked my eyes, irritatedly.
"What?" I snapped.
"They're outside, Angel! OUTSIDE!"
I threw the covers off, "Who?" I asked tiredly.
"The city officials! They want you to release us! They think you are part of the vampires! What are we going to do?"
"Would you stop yelling?" I growled at Jean. She snapped her mouth shut. "Well, thanks much. Lots quieter now you shut up," Jean glared at me, "where's Drake?"
"He's still sleeping."
"Really? After all that fuss?"
Drake got up behind Jean, rubbing his eyes, "Not anymore."
I smiled and Jean, and stretched my wings. "Ah, well. None of us really need anymore sleep, do we?"
Jean crossed her arms, "Fine, whatever. Can you 'release' us then?"
"You really want to get bitten, don't you?"
"I wouldn't mind. Then maybe you'd stop snapping at me."
"I doubt that. I'd probably do it more since you'd be tryin' to chop down on my flesh."
"Now wouldn't that be nice."
I shook my head, "And you, Drake? Leave or stay?"
"Um."
"That's not an answer."
Drake glared at me, "I know!"
"Then are you going to answer me?"
"I don't know. If I leave I could get bitten, if I stay it could be even more dangerous."
I rolled my eyes, getting annoyed, "Are you going to decide or not?"
Drake sighed, "I'm leaving."
"HA!" Jean shouted in my face.
I pushed her back, turning towards the cave entrance, "Well, I hope you two have fun dying."
Jean opened her mouth to reply, but in an instant I had strode out of the room, both of them running to catch up. That's when the shouts reached my ears, "Release the children now!"
I stepped on the edge of the cliff, Jean and Drake standing on each side of me. I kicked a rock down the cliff, watching it tumble to the ground by the 'officials'. They looked up at me, mouths gapping. I smiled and opened up my wings wide, turning them pure white. Drake nudged me and whispered, "Stop showing off!"
I sighed, folding my wings again, and pushed both of them forward, "These two yours?"
Below I caught glimpses of guns being lowered, people exchanging glances. "What are you?" someone dared to ask.
I looked away, suddenly interested in a rock. I nudged Jean and Drake dangerously close to the edge, "You want 'em or not?" I looked at their faces, a few guns were raised again. An airglider rose up, the fans spinning, their noise ringing loud. I stared at the face before me. A tingle ran down my spine. His hair was white, but not that kind of 'old man' white. His face was young. Maybe just on year older than I was. He had green eyes, which stared at mine. I broke the stare and pushed the two forward. I took careful note his arms were bare and he wasn't wearing a hood. My heart lept, good. He was human. He took Jean and Drake by the wrists and lowered down, and he finally, finally, stopped staring at me. I watched as below he shoved the two off, two soldiers scurrying them off to a hovercar. He put one foot off the glider, when someone ran to him. Their conversation didn't reach my ears but something told me to get ready. Get ready for what, you ask? Heck, if I knew that, maybe what happened next wouldn't have happened. He stepped back on the glider, and rose up to me. He gripped my wrist suddenly. It felt icy, his grip incredibly strong.
"Crap." I gasped, trying to pull away from him. He grinned, his fangs revealed. How could he stand here in the sun? I asked myself. But what I couldn't get was how all those guards below got bit. He leaned close to my ear, "Hello, Angel."
I screamed, loud, hard, all my breath leaving me. I kicked, I scratched, I even bit. But it was no use, he gripped me hard, and close to his body. He lowered the glider, everyone pointing guns at me.
"She's fine," I heard the vampire say, "I've got her."
"Let go of me!" I screamed, pulling away from him. To my surprise, he let me go, yelling something like, "She bit me!"
I opened my wings and jumped into the sky. I reached the tree tops when I heard the tazer go off. It bit into my back, and I felt myself start to fall. My wings stopped working, my arms didn't try to grab the branch as I told them to, my feet flopped in the wind. My mouth opened on its own accord, the wind rushing into my lungs. My eyes stopped blinking, even my heart seemed to slow. I hit the ground so hard it got through my numb limbs. The aching hurt so bad I could've sworn I broke a bone. My wings laid sprawled out around me, but when I heard people walk to me, I couldn't move my neck. I struggled to move my eyes and saw the vampire walk towards me. He knelt next to me, and whispered, with a smirk on his face, "Don't worry, I've got you know." Then the swarms of hands grabbed me, pulling me to a hover board. They set me on top of it, and I realized they were human. How could they not know they were fighting the wrong person? A vampire was in their very mists! I swallowed hard, wishing so very much I hadn't followed Drake into his home, hadn't decided to go for a walk that day. Then none of this would've happened.
