Bitten Wings Part 17

Angel is changing....
Pain choked my breath. I reached for support from a tree, leaning against it with my head down beneath my chest. My wings were black leather and scales, no longer the beautiful white feathers I loved. How could this be? I was bitten! This should not have happened, by my own sister too! I spat, blood mostly part of the odd substance. Coughing hard, and slid down the tree till I rested on the ground. My eyes were still odd, red mingling in with everything, apparently they still hadn’t adjusted to the change. My tongue ran over my fangs, which were still coming out of my skull. I coughed again, tears streaming down my face. It was dark now, the moon sparkling in the sky.

"I can’t believe this happened," I said into the air, then turning my face up to the sky, "why has this happened?!"

Birds flew over the sky, the clouds rolling lazily by. How could the world be so at peace, oblivious to the pain I was in, when I was the ticket to doom and destruction? Why is the world so cruel? Slowly I got back to my feet, using the tree as a crutch as I got to my feet. The hard bark seemed dimmed, the feeling barely being registered by my brain. I understood now why nothing shocked or pained vamps. They couldn’t feel anything. My eyes searched for anything familiar, but nothing came to mind. I walked slowly through the rows of trees, not knowing where to go next. Then he came to mind. Marcus! He had the other cure! Where would he go? My cave came to mind. He’d be there. But how would I get there? I wasn’t exactly in the best shape. Something inside suddenly went insane, shouting at me to turn around, or run. I painfully turned around, my breath caught in my throat. The rock in her hand nearly came down on my head, but I stumbled back. The rock, however, did make contact with my ankle, and I screamed out with pain.

"I can still feel that!" I shouted, dragging myself farther back. The girl stood over me, apparently surprised she missed, then picked up the rock again.

"Don't try it!" I shouted, as if I could do anything to stop her.

"Come, my Queen, we are all waiting for you to come home."

"No! Leave me alone!"

"It will taint you soon. First you'll feel strange, shaky, panicky. Then, mixed with that, is immense power. Then sereneness."

"I don't want that! I don't want to be your Queen!"

"You will, Angel."

"Get away from me! Get away!"

She stopped by a tree, leaning against it, rock still in hand. "And why should I, my Queen? What will you do?"
I quickened my pace, dragging myself across the mud and dirt quicker. She got up and started walking with me.

"You haven't answered me, my Lady."

"I don't-I don't think I need to."

She grinned, sharpened teeth glittering under the stars.

"Get away," I repeated.

She tossed her rock up in the air, catching it as it fell back down. Then she threw it from one hand to the other. Tears began to stream down my face, burning my eyes.

"Please, please. I can't fight you."

She smiled again, "I know." Then she threw the rock viciously at my head. I lifted my arms, and my wings to cover my face. The rock hit hard, causing pain to surge through my body, but it didn't reach my head. I opened my wings, pulling myself together quickly, then jumping into the air. She jumped to catch my ankle, but missed and fell back to earth. Turning sharply around, the vampire climbed up the nearest tree, jumping from tree to tree. As I watched, flying for the life of the world, I didn't see her jump out of a tree. A bat instead attacked my arms and wings. Screaming, I whacked at it hysterically, trying to lose it. Its fangs came down on my shoulder, piercing my flesh. I grabbed it, and a strange thing happened. Through my anger, my fangs finished growing, and I bit the bat. It screeched loudly, flapping its wings wildly. Then I threw to the ground far below. I started to feel shaky. Hurriedly, I flew faster. I wasn't about to let this happen.

It's kinda short...but I posted it...
And I know people aren't happy she got bit, but I planned it from the beginning! And don't worry, it will be a good ending!! I hate bad endings, so I wouldn't write something like that... (=
