You look at your calendar and notice that three of your closest friend’s birthday’s are coming up, which means its time to hit the stores and go through the grind of buying birthday present. Its going to be the same old gift certificate or gift hamper, cause for the life of you, you cant come up with different birthday present ideas and you don’t have the time and energy to go window shopping.

At the same time you do want to give your friends’ gifts that are so common, you want to give them gifts that reflect their personality, are fun and show that you have put thought into them. Do not go about buying gifts for your friends as if it is an ordeal, make sure you have fun and get pleasure while doing so. There are lots of gifts to choose from and what makes them special is if you can personalize these gifts. If you do not have time to go gift hunting, you can always go online and choose from a wide variety there. All you need is some time with a computer and your credit card.

Some of the greatest presents I have received haven’t been extravagant, they have in fact been small but I could make out the thought put into them. This is what made them so special, and of course hand made gifts always have a special place in my heart. A great gift to give a friend is a set of their favorite books, or a collection of books. And if your friend is not the sort who likes books, then magazines are something that everyone enjoys reading. A magazine subscription is a great gift, be it for men or women, since there are thousands of magazines, finding a suitable magazine subscription isn’t going to be difficult.

Another great gift idea is to make a collection of movies for the person. A movie gift hamper is a brilliant idea, all you need to know is the person’s top ten favorite movies, order those online. Fill the hamper with packet of microwave popcorn, different types of cheese and mini wine bottles, and voila your movie gift hamper is ready.

Is your friend over worked? Does she deserve a day off, but doesn’t have the time to get to a spa? Why not bring the spa to her? Not literally but you can give her a gift hamper along with a massage session at home. You can fill the hamper with her favorite scented spa products. Massage oil, scrubs, foot soaks and scented candles. Why not add a few aromatherapy oils as well to the basket. It completes the whole spa experience. Do you have a special friend who loves wines? Why not arrange to take him to one of the vineyards in the country? Napa Valley has some great wineries; a tour of these along with some wine tasting and time to spend with you would make a great gift.

Other great ideas are concert tickets, tickets for Broadway plays or even tickets for a weekend away along with hotel bookings. If you can cook, why not make an exotic meal for your friend. Or the best gift for any fried is to throw them a surprise party. Where they will get many more gifts to enjoy.
