Personal Life
This popular author was born as Stephenie Morgan to parents Stephen and Candy Morgan on December 24, 1973 in Hartford, Connecticut. She grew up in Arizona with her five siblings - Seth, Emily, Jacob, Paul and Heidi. A student of Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona, she went on to become an English Graduate from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah in 1995. Twilight Series
Most people think that dreams are irrelevant, but in the case of Stephenie Meyer, it was a dream that changed her life. She says that the idea for the Twilight Series came to her in a dream, on a June night in 2003. The dream was about a girl and a vampire who was in love with her, but at the same time thirsted for her blood. Later, based on this dream, she came up with a transcript of what is now the Chapter 13 of the book. Thus, the Twilight series - a vampire romance story conceived. Isabella Swan and Edward Cullen are the two main characters of the novel.

The power of expression is evident in the fact that in a span of 3 months, Meyer had transformed her dream into a full-fledged novel. No one who has read the book would believe that she wrote it without any prior experience! The book was released in the year 2005. Moreover, she also signed a three-book deal with Little, Brown and Company.
With the first book 'Twilight', topping all the charts, Meyer came up with the expansion of Twilight in three parts - New Moon in 2006, Eclipse in 2007 and Breaking Dawn in 2008. The first three 'Twilight' books spent a combined 143 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list after the release of Eclipse. A whopping number of 42 million copies of Twilight series were sold worldwide.

Much to the heartbreak of her fans, the prolific writer indicated that the Breaking Dawn would be the last novel told from Bella Swan's point of view. A companion novel to the Twilight series was to be 'Midnight Sun', which was the original story retold through Edward Cullen's perspective. Unfortunately, due to an online leak of the first 12 chapters of Midnight Sun, she postponed the book indefinitely. Her latest book in the pipeline is 'The Host'. There was a movie adaptation of this novel in 2007, with the same name as the series - Twilight. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart play Edward and Isabella in the film.

Achievements
Meyer has received a lot of acclaim worldwide. USA Today named Meyer as "Author of the Year" in 2008. Having sold over 22 million books in 2008 alone, she was the biggest selling author of the year. She entered at number 26 in the Forbes Celebrity 100 list of the world's most powerful celebrities. Another feather in her cap was the British Book Award for 'Breaking Dawn' which gave a tough competition to J.K. Rowling's 'The Tales of Beetle the Bard'. Another major achievement is that Twilight has been translated into 20 different languages.

Stephenie Meyer's monumental success which started with a dream proved to us that, 'dreams do come true'.
