Biography of Cheryl Hines
Cheryl Ruth Hines was born on 21st September, 1965, in Miami Beach, Florida, to Rosemary Graham Harbolt and James Hines. She grew up in Tallahassee, Florida, where she attended high school. In her high school years, she attended the Young Actors Theater. Then, she joined the West Virginia University for her secondary education. She graduated from the University of Central Florida, where she selected communication as her major subject, and minored in theater.

Hines was determined to become an actress from her high school days, therefore she moved to Los Angeles. Before moving to LA, she had worked as waitress, television reporter and telephone operator. She has also worked as a personal assistant to Rob Reiner, however, he did not play any significant role in her career.

She started her acting career with an improvisational comedy at The Groundlings Theater, where she still loves to perform. There she learned to write comedy sketches. In 1996, her first on-screen debut, a short film called Cheap Curry And Calculus was released. But unfortunately, the film did not bring her much fame. Hines also appeared in one or two episodes of some serials. She was a struggling actor until 1999, when she got the role of Cheryl David, Larry David's wife, in an American comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO. The sitcom proved to be a huge success. With the growing popularity of the series, Hines became a popular actress. She won two Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress nominations, for her role as Cheryl David .

Hines married Paul Young, chairman of The Groundlings Theater on 30th December, 2002. The couple have a daughter Catherine Rose, who was born on 8th March, 2004.

Hines also did several other films and serials. She was the voice behind Kate, mother of a lion, in a popular animated television series Father of the Pride. She acted in films like RV, with Robin Williams, and Waitress, opposite Keri Russell. Hines was also seen in Herbie Fully Loaded in 2005, starring Lindsay Lohan, Michael Keaton, Matt Dillon, Breckin Meyer, and Justin Long. In 2008, she acted in the romantic comedy Cake with Heather Graham, the college comedy Bickford Shmeckler's Cool Ideas, and the drama Our Very Own with Allison Janney. She also appeared in a comedy film The Grand, which is a mockery of the World Series of Poker. She was an executive producer of the Oxygen Network series Campus Ladies, and directed an episode No Means No. Hines also directed a film Serious Moonlight starring Meg Ryan, Timothy Hutton, Kristen Bell, and Justin Long. She is also acting in a new ABC sitcom In the Motherhood, according to the TV Guide.

Hines is a great actress and an accomplished stage performer, with an inborn talent for comedy. She will be seen in the film Labor Pains starring Lindsay Lohan and a romantic comedy The Ugly Truth starring Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl, both of which are yet to be released.
