Biggest Loser Runner-up Received Death Threats

In one of the more hotly contested seasons of the Biggest Loser, a couple of the contestants drew the ire of fans, while the winner seemed to capture America's heart.
In the first season to have family members paired together in competition, the Biggest Loser again saw dramatic physical transformations from all of its contestants - and a little more drama than the show typically delivers. As this season unfolded, it became clear that there were at least two hard-core "game-players" in the mix - Vicky and Heba. The two women seemed to be scheming from the start, pulling strings and creating alliances to advance their causes. In most reality shows, this type of game play is expected - and required. But on the Biggest Loser, the show holds itself to a more pure spirit of competition and self-improvement.

After all, the contestants on the Biggest Loser are often dangerously obese, and the show is giving them an opportunity to change their lives forever. As Vicky and Heba began to show their cards, viewers of the show began to react on message boards and fan forums, voicing their distaste for the seemingly under-handed and vindictive tactics of the two ladies. Ultimately, the viewing public proved even more despicable than any contestant could possibly be. Vicky and her husband were forced to change their phone number and she revealed that she has been receiving death threats and hate mail as a result of the show. And while she may have been portrayed negatively on the show, there was nothing to warrant that level of public response.

Ultimately, Michelle trumped both Vicky, Heba and Heba's husband Ed to win the $250,000 grand prize. Heba, who was voted out of the final group despite her husband's request that America vote her in, won the $100,000 prize awarded to the biggest loser among players who did not make the final three. The new season of the Biggest Loser is set to kick off on January 6 and will again pair family members who will compete to lose weight and transform their lives.
