Bible, is it the truth or just a fairy tale?

The most famous book the Earth has come to know is the Bible. Translated in most languages of our planet this book amazes trough historical and scientifically proven accuracy.

Have you ever wondered why Christianity is the religion of love? Might it just be nothing more then a charming tale? Is it possible that Jesus is just like our good old "Santa"-nothing more but vivid imagination?

I have to admit that as a teenager I wanted to see for myself if the Bible is worth believing or not. This was a rather long process for me; it took me 3 years of search trough science and history to see for myself that Jesus existed indeed in history as a true personage and is not just a beautiful story or a myth like Hercules.

Of course, from admitting a historical truth and the fact that there is a Creator-an inventor of time, space and matter - to seeing and being convinced that this Creator must be the God of the Bible, there are questions that need answers.

Let’s start in the beginning.

Have you ever seen a sculpted statue? It is logical that behind the work of art there is an artist who planned the way that statue will look like and who turned that piece of let’s say marble into a beautiful woman for example.

The artist is more intelligent then the statue itself and of course…the Inventor of the artist must be more intelligent then the artist himself.

Could the One Who made the ear be deaf? Can the One Who made the eye be blind?

The logical conclusion while facing the complexity of nature and of the universe pushes us to admit the fact that there is indeed a Maker of all these things. (By the way, evolution is an "expired theory" already.)

Prophecies

The most convincing argument –if we can say that as all of them are convincing- is the power of the prophecies.

Bible’s superiority is clearly shown in its remarkable prophetic evidence. No other religious book can compete with these indubitable proofs of fulfilled prophecies down to the smallest detail, down to each word and syllable. Some of them have already happened, others are fulfilled today and there are predictions for the future as well.

Now, if the old and present predictions turned out just as prophesied, it is a matter of logic to assume that the prophecies about the future will also come true.

For instance, Jesus’ first coming was predicted with over 300 prophecies and they all fulfilled in His life!

Jesus said that He would have a Church and His message would be taken to the ends of the Earth and when I look around today, I see that for a fact, it happened as prophesied, it is amazing!

How could He have known what the next 2000 years would bring unless He was who He claimed to be? This is only one example of prophecy from so many others!

Nevertheless, the prophecies cathegory do not include the unclear, and usually erroneous, prophecies of people like Nostradamus, Jeanne Dixon etc. and neither other religious books such as the Koran, the Confucian Analects, and comparable religious writings.

Unique Historical Accuracy

The historical accuracy of the Bible is proven trough the archaeological discoveries that have been almost incalculable in the last century. Dr. Nelson Glueck, a great (if not the greatest) modern authority on Israeli archeology, has said:

"No archaeological discovery has ever controverted a Biblical reference. Scores of archaeological findings have been made which confirm in clear outline or in exact detail historical statements in the Bible. And, by the same token, proper evaluation of Biblical descriptions has often led to amazing discoveries."

Scientific Accuracy

Modern science in the Bible? You bet! It is striking to realize that the Bible mentioned scientifically accurate facts thousands of years ago and they are just being discovered today or have been revealed in the latest centuries!

For instance, the roundness of the earth:" It is He that sits upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in "(Isaiah 40:22)

Another example is the number of the stars. The Bible clearly states that the stars are "countless": "As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me." (Jeremiah 33:22)

However, at first, astrologists counted as many stars as they could see with the naked eye (from around 1000 to 3000 stars). The scientists only discovered the immeasurable figure of the stars after they had the modern telescopes.

I only mentioned these two as examples but there are many other scientifically proven affirmations in the Bible!

It is so captivating to discover the Bible, it is not just a book, it is a book full of life, science, history and knowledge that cannot be acquired anywhere else. It really gives meaning to our life and opens our eyes on things we did not know they even existed!
