Bhutan boast of the beauty of eastern Himalaya Mountains. The country is one of the beautiful sandwiched nation in South Asia. Taktsang Monastery:

This divine monastery is situated on a cliff and can be reached easily with a short walk. It is located in the midst of thick forest and is known as the wild abode of tigers. This worth watching site also carries mystique legends with it. It is said that Guru Padmasambhava, the founder of Buddhism in Bhutan, came here on the back of a flying tiger, Dorji Drolo.

Ta Dzong:

Constructed sometime in 1656, this ancient watch tower has a National Museum and is highly visited by sightseers. The museum is said to have been designed as a conch shell and a complex with four-sided carving is its main attraction. Images of Sakyamuni, Atisha(a great teacher), Geylup(an ardent disciple of Dalai Lama) etc depicts the glorious past of Buddhism.

Chimi Lhakhang:

Also, known as 'The Temple of Fertility', this religious shrine was constructed in 15th century by Lama Drukpa Kuenley. He discovered a philosophy, 'Salvation through sex', which is still remembered by Bhutanese. It is said that Chimi Lhakhang as magic in the air and as such sterile women from different parts of the world visit here to offer prayer and receive blessings.

Besides, tourist can also make a pilgrimage tour to Jambay Lhakhang, Chakhar Lhakhang and Tamshing Lhakhang.

Mongar:

Situated at an altitude of 5575 feet, Mongar is the second largest town in the sub-tropical east. Eastern Bhutan begins from here. Travelers in the town can enjoy the traditional Bhutanese architecture and a wildlife tour to Thrumshing La National Park and Bomdeling Wildlife Sanctuary.

Other must-visit tourist destinations in Bhutan are Paro Rimpung Dzong, Kichu Lhakhang, Drukgyal Dzong, Dupthong Lhakhang, National Institute, Traditional Medicine Institute, National Library and lot more.
