Beyond the Woods: Happily Ever After

The End.
Five Years Later

"It's okay baby you can do this!" Christian encouraged.

I laid there, feeling terrible pain in the hospital bed, thinking about how much has changed within the past five years of my life.

FLASHBACK

I fell in love with Christian Calivastro, the man of dreams. The only man I ever have and ever will devote my heart to.

I was kidnapped and abused by one of our Kingdoms most feared enemies, who in the end failed.

A man who tormented me my whole life expressed his love for me, and I rejected him.

I married Christian, we had an amazing ceremony, and I became Mrs. Calivastro.

Our honeymoon was one of the best experiences of my life. Christian surprised me and flew me out to Bora Bora, where he owned a beautiful island. And we finally made love to each other for the first time.

I became the Queen of our Empire and have been taking problems as they come. Everyone says I am doing a "Fine Job" but I'm not totally sure about that. The responsibility was a handful, but I would not have it any other way.

Sean and Emma were married, no surprise there I could always see it happening. It was interesting though, to introduce Emma into our world.

And finally now, the present, I am lying in an uncomfortable hospital bed awaiting the arrival of our first-born child.

"Come on Ava, baby, push!" Christian insisted.

"Why don't you try pushing an eight pound baby out of your body?!" I screamed frustrated.

"Sorry, it's the hormones?" I tried apologizing.

Christian just stared at me with loving eyes. "You can yell and scream however much you want, love. I am so proud of you. You can do this!"

"Okay." I cried.

"One more push, the baby's crowning." Doctor Peterson said.

With all the strength I had left in me, I gave a final push and felt relief flush into me.

The little wails coming from beneath me was the only thing that kept me from passing out of exhaustion.

Christian and I wanted the gender of the baby to be a complete surprise, so when I hear the doctor's next words, I am overcome with joy.

"Congratulations, it's a girl." Dr. Peterson smiled.

"Oh, Christian." I cried. "She's perfect."

Dr. Peterson placed her in my arms and I felt the tears escape my eyes, as I looked down into a replica of Christian and I.

"She's beautiful, just like her mother." He beamed.

"What shall we name her?" Christian questioned.

"Hmm… I like Gemma." I stated with confidence.

"Gemma, it is." He smiled.

"Gemma Liliana Calivastro." I smiled.

I couldn't muster up any words. I was so over filled with love and joy. Nothing could ruin this moment, absolutely nothing.

I get to spend the rest of my life with my beautiful, loving family in our home that will always be Beyond the Woods.
