Beyond the Woods - Chapters Four and Five

What happens to Ava? Thank you all!
Chapter Four

"Ava, are you in pain?" I heard from about eight different people.

"I'm fine I just want to sleep."

"You are definitively not okay; she is starting to lose consciousness," said Darren while using a flash light to check my pupils.

"Let me see her wound." Darren said.

"When did you become a doctor?" I asked annoyed.

"When he got his degree obviously," Lance said.

"Degree, you're still in high school." I explained.

Then everyone's faces looked horrified but I didn't care my eyes felt so heavy, taking my mind off the topic. He began pulling up my dress when I slapped his hand.

"Excuse me I don't think so." I said frustrated.

"I said I was fine now please just let me go to bed," I said while hopping off the counter.

As soon as I did I regretted it. While landing on the floor all my weight went onto my leg and I screeched. "AHHHHH!" I cried out. Why did I have to be so damn stubborn? I was pretty sure I was going to fall when two warm arms caught me and softly pulled me into a tender embrace.

Before I had the chance to see who it was my eyelids began shutting and I had no control over them what soever. Then I began to feel darkness pull its cover tightly around me and I was gone, lost deep within my own dreams.

Chapter Five

What the hell was going on here? Christian likes me? Wait and so does Darren? This was too much, I need reliable answers.

I woke up within the sheets of my cozy bed. I sat up feeling rather sore when everything all came rushing back to me. I remembered everything that happened and wasn't sure what to think of it all. I got out of bed and noticed I was in different clothing and my leg was stitched up. Who put me in different clothes I wondered, now I really feel insecure. My curtains were not drawn, so I could tell that it was still pitch dark outside.

I quietly tiptoed across the hall when I heard voices are coming from the living room downstairs. I crawled the rest of the way down to the railing near the stairs. So I could hear better and take a peek at what was going on.

"Mom it is time we told her." I heard Sean say. Tell me what? "I know, I know, but I don't think she is ready. It's so much responsibility to take on and so much stress for the poor girl."

"Mrs. Jordan I think, it's in her best interest to not tell her, maybe you should wait a couple years." I heard Christian say then Darren agreed.

"Why do you care so much, brothers?" Lance said and I saw the adorable grin on his face. Both the boys blushed.

"What do we have here? Both of you have a liking for this girl?" Mr. Calivastro asked.

There was silence. "Oh my, just the thought of one of my sons marrying into the family of our royal, beloved friends makes me overjoyed."

Spoke Mrs. Calivastro. What the hell was going on here? Christian likes me? Wait and so does Darren? This was too much, I need reliable answers. What did they mean by "Our royal family friends?" I was at the verge of losing my mind. "Well we have much to talk about why don't we all go to bed and speak more tomorrow." My dad suggested.

Everyone seemed to agree. Wait, I didn't know they were all staying here. "I'll go check on Ava," said both Darren and Christian at the same time.

I blushed to myself as Sean spoke up and said "This is going to be a hell of a long ride." It dawned on me that they were all coming up here to go to check on me and go to their rooms.

"Shit!" I whispered to myself. I ran back to my room, trying to make as little noise as possible. As soon as I shut the door I heard footsteps and swiftly hopped onto my bed covering myself with my comforter. I heard the knob to my door twist open and I promptly closed my eyes and pretended to be fake sleeping. I heard two people walk in and abruptly stop near my bed.

"She is beautiful isn't she," Darren whispered.
"Stunning," Christian said. I desperately tried to stop myself from blushing.
"Brother you know I love you and couldn't bear the thought of hurting you but she's..."

Christian started to say before Darren interrupted. She is what, what, I thought.
"Chris I'm sorry but I cannot just sit around and let you have her. I know it is selfish of me but I want her as well. Have you ever smelt someone so sweet?" Darren said. "Darren, this girl is different please just - Christian was cut off again.

"I will put up a fight for her, brother, in the end it will be her decision but I'm going to try my very best." That was all Darren said before leaving my bedroom. I thought Christian was gone as well but then I felt a soft hand stroke my cheek and pull back a stranded piece of hair. I couldn't resist, so I opened my eyes but he was gone. How could someone leave that quickly? This was probably the longest day ever and to make matters worse I had to go to school tomorrow. After sleeping a little already I was still tired then found myself falling into a deep sleep once again.

I was running in the woods just like any other day, when I stumbled upon a cliff. As I turned back I saw HIM the man who haunted my dreams. The man who could possibly be the same man that chased me in the woods.

"Please don't hurt me; I just want to go home." I said to him. "Home?" He chuckled. "You'll never go back there again." He sneered. "No please," I said as he began to come towards me. I took too many steps and found myself free falling off the cliff, screaming.

My eyes opened wide and I felt better after realizing I was in my room and it was just a dream. I felt my forehead and it was covered in sweat. My phone says it's only five O'clock but I went ahead and got up. I decided to start getting ready for school. I wanted to leave early this morning; so I wouldn't have to face anyone, I can't handle this just yet.

An hour later I was finished getting ready and I began quietly walking downstairs, hoping that no one would hear me. To my pleasure no one did and I decided to skip breakfast and just head over to the garage to get my bike. I rolled it down the road, not wanting to wake anyone by starting it. I glanced to my side noticing the woods. My woods. Badly I wanted to go in them exploring just like any other day but I knew I couldn't face that creature, not yet. I heard someone calling my name and saw Sean waving at me near the house. I swiftly put on my helmet, started my bike, and rode off. Sorry, Sean I just don't want to talk right now, I said to myself.
