Beyond the Woods - Chapter 3
What does Christian have to say about all of this?
Christian's Point of View - Chapter 3
When I first saw her coming late to class I was taken back. Never before have I seen someone so spectacular. Her long golden brown hair was practically flawless and it went along perfectly with her light blue eyes. Her body was so perfectly curvy yet lean and fit. Seeing her blush just made me want to reach out and stroke her cheek. Immediately I could tell Darren felt the same way, but too bad. I did not care how stubborn how I was being this girl just seemed incredible, and it didn't hurt that she was extremely fit as well. Darren could have the Jordan's daughter for all I cared. Stop this Christian! What are you doing, you have a responsibility to carry out why are you acting this way? I am wild at heart but I cannot be acting like this, I have a duty. Oh but I would kill just to talk to this girl. While sitting behind her it was easy to catch her scent, honeysuckle and roses, how delicious.
When the bell rang, she ran so fast, I was stunned. I went looking for her when I glanced down the hall and saw her down on the floor picking up her books, talking to some guy who was obviously into her. But she didn't seem to feel the same way and I had a strong feeling that this guy was trouble and a jerk as well. I made sure to keep an eye on her until she was far away from that guy.
We arrived at the Jordan's mansion early, to be greeted by the long lost friends of ours. I remember playing with Sean when we were younger and that was about it. The main reason we were here for was the girl. In order for our kingdoms to be reunited the Kings proposed marriage. I was not happy at all, who would want to go on a blind date let alone marry a stranger. Father gave Darren and me the option to choose if we wanted her or not. Personally I was going to let Darren go ahead since the thought of marring someone against their free will upset me.
My brothers and I were told she did not know anything about our kind, history, or even future. This astounded me, how could they keep such a big secret like this hidden. It's almost impossible.
After arriving at the Jordan's residence we were greeted by warm welcoming arms. Everyone caught up a bit while we waited for the girl to enter, but she never came. Mrs. Jordan was becoming angrier by the minute while Mr. Jordan's face showed only worry as he said "Don't worry she probably just left to run a quick aron, she'll be back soon."
Dinner started and she still wasn't back. Conversation was continuing until we heard a piercing scream that even gave me the chills. Minutes later we all heard the door open, slam, and lock. As I looked up, I was shocked seeing that the girl from school was here. She was the woman I was supposed to marry? I thought. Instantly I was overjoyed until I realized the state she was in. Her whole body was completely drenched in mud and leaves. As I sniffed the air I smelt hints of fresh blood and my throat began tingling.
Not only was she dirty but she seemed as if her life had just been threatened. It took her a while before she responded back to any of us. I was concerned and I just felt the urge to wrap my arms around her and make her feel safe and sound. But I barely know this girl, why do I have these feelings? Could she be my soulmate, if you want to believe in that sort of thing? The rest of the dinner was awkward, she barely talked, as did I because I was upset with myself for not being able to protect her from whatever it was that scared her.
While Lance, Darren, and I were playing ball we all tried to listen in on Sean and Ava's conversation, but she wouldn't given in and tell what really happened. If she is scared enough to not even tell her own brother about what happened, how will I ever get her to tell me?
We played ball for a while until we all heard Ava whimpering in pain. All four of us ran over, then Sean discovered she was bleeding, it must have happened from earlier tonight. I forced the guys to all rush in for help, even though Darren was the only one knowledgeable enough to help her. I wanted to take her in myself, making sure she was alright and stable for now. I gently lifted her body up into my arms, holding her tight. Her skin accidentally brushed up against mine and it felt like the best feeling in the world.
I gazed into her yes for what seemed like forever until I had to brake off, knowing that we were coming closer to the house. She seemed disappointed which made me disappointed as well. I didn't have time to say anything else but reassure her that I would make sure that she would be safe. Then just as fast as she came, she was taken out of my arms and into the mansion.
