It has been confirmed that the signed wedding license was filed in Scarsdale, NY on Friday. Beyonce, 26, and Jay-Z, 38, reportedly applied for a marriage license on April 1. Donna Conkling, the Scarsdale Town Clerk, reportedly revealed to US Magazine that the couple was "very low-key and weren’t dressed up." She reportedly added, "They did not have a large entourage." After the couple tied the knot, they sent in their signed marriage license. Conkling said, "We received it back Friday." The license was reportedly filed after the five-day period as required by law, but they will not have to pay a penalty as Conkling says that the penalty is often waived.

It was rumored that the long time couple tied that knot on Friday, April 4 at his loft in Tribeca. A source said on April 4, "It happened earlier this evening. Jay really wanted it to be a really private affair – close friends and family." Party preparations reportedly began early Friday. Flowers, candelabras, linens, and a white tent were all spotted being delivered to the rappers penthouse apartment. There were reportedly about two dozen family and friends were present at the nuptials including Beyonce’s parents Tina and Mathew Knowles, sister Solange, Jay-Z’s mother Gloria Carter, Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Beyonce and Jay-Z began dating nearly six-years ago and have always kept their relationship private. It has been rumored that the couple is going to have a second ceremony in early May in France. Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, is also getting ready to close on a $150 million music deal with Live Nation.
