Beware of Foreign-Made Eye Creams

The author touches on the skin care industry and has a look at why it's best to buy skin care products that are made in the USA. With the FDA and State Health Boards doing a great job policing companies, there is no reason you should risk your health purchases with unregulated offshore organizations.
If you read the news last week, you probably heard about how a popular weight loss diet pill supplement called Hydroxycut was recalled and even linked to a death. This hit close to home, as I used to use that supplement due to it's fancy marketing campaigns, good consumer reviews, and prominent display at the local GNC stores. If you didn't know that this diet pill was made in Canada, take note. It had a ten year run as the king of weight loss diet pills and who knows how many other people it affected before finally being recalled.

You simply cannot trust products made outside the USA that have a direct impact on your health or skin. Of course any digestible tablets or capsules have their own risks, and skin care products could cause redness and irritation when applied to the skin.

Problems are much fewer in USA-made products. That is why people are usually looking for the best skin care products made here. I'll tell you one thing, there is no other organization in the world that does it's due diligence like the FDA. They run a tight ship and are among the most thorough agencies in the world. If the FDA finds a flaw, the move quick and look out for consumer safety.

Keep in mind that American-made products are also subject to inspections from State Health Boards. State health boards not only have certain certifications for employees at manufacturing facilities, but they make them take continued training and education as they continue to work there. That said, there is a constant learning curve and always new trends blooming in things from sanitary state of the facility to how to operate machinery. Can you trust your livelihood with a foreigner who may or may not have an education making your products? I was not born in the USA, but I STILL share this thought. Where I come from, bribes are paid to get things done. It's sad, but it's true. Corruption occurs at many levels, but it is rampant outside of the US borders. If you have ever been to Mexico you surely have noticed things like that.

Consumers beware. Sometimes ingredients may or may not be the same ones you read on the label. Other times you may not even be using an ingredient that has the desired effect on the skin. You really never can tell if a foreign-made product has the potential to do what a product made in the USA can do. Sometimes, like the case of the Canadian-made diet pill, it could be too late. My thoughts go out to everyone who was affected by that tragedy.
