People all around the globe enjoy different types of music. The punk genre of music is favorite among people of all ages. Punk music developed in the mid 1970s in the United States, London and Australia. The music and lyrics basically highlighted sensitive issues and the weaknesses of governments about certain matters. Obviously a favorite among teens and young adults, this genre of music has millions of followers all around and the number is only growing. This article enlists the various groups who make punk music a legend, here are some of the best punk bands.

The following punk bands are credited in making what punk music is today. Most of them don't play anymore but their records are still available in music stores all around. Let's have a look at popular punk bands.

Bad Brains
All I want to say about Bad Brains is that they invented punk music and there can be no argument to this topic.

The Clash
The Clash never called themselves as a punk band, but as a band that plays whatever they feel like playing. As long as they were in the main scene, not once they called themselves punk. They were named punk by critics and their fans and that's what made them punk, not their own style. Screw the world. We are Clash and we're number 1.

Sex Pistols
Never mind the bullocks, here's the Sex Pistols. This band is the total package. They are the inventors of nihilist punk rock. The Sex Pistols never won any awards, but they didn't cared about that. Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten were the most famous members of Sex Pistols. People often say that rappers are banned from some states due to the abusive language they use, but Sex Pistols were banned from the entire U.K. Hence they feature in my list of best punk bands of all time.

The Ramones
People say that "The Ramones" were one of the first bands in the world of punk. They were fast, loud and obnoxious. They used to honk their music and never give a crap about anyone. They were one of the initiators in this field and they will always be one of the best.

Green Day
Many don't consider Green Day as a punk band, but Green Day has contributed to punk music more than any other band in the history of punk. Their songs like Jesus of Suburbia, I Walk Alone and Holiday have highlighted the life of young American people and the hardships that they go through.

Ignite
This Orange County band is gradually building up a huge fan-base all around the world. The lead singer Zoli Teglas has one of the best voices in punk music. They are an ideal mix of good songs and amazing talent.

The Misfits
They have their own punk music genre known as horror punk. They were original in their own way and no other band has been able to make music like they do till today.

Anti Flag
They had to be in my list because they stand for everything punk rock music is. They are the godfathers of each punk believer.

The Germs
They were the first punk band from the coast of California. They were famous for writing anti government lyrics.

Minor Threat
Minor Threat wasn't just your stereotype punk band. They were new and different and they were here to make some amazing music and damn they made it. They not only had some amazing morals and punk ideas, but they also had creative talent to make something new every time. They were genuinely a talented punk band with an important message for punk lovers.
