Berry Bermuda - Chapter One

I am not sure about the story title, so if you guys could please comment on what the name should be, it would be REALLY helpful. XOXO, Laurel.
Berry Bermuda is only 10 years old, but he is armed with a gun and a knife. It is 12:03 in the nighttime, but Berry Bemuda is awake, watching. Ever watching. Berry Bemuda has done nothing, but, already his name is on every news website in the USA. Berry Bemuda hates his life.

"Okay, I think their gone." Young Berry tells his older sister, Charice. She whisks up the curtain to make sure, but then breathes a sigh of relief. "Good. Now it's my turn. You go get some sleep, and I'll keep watch for any sign of them."

"Fine..." Berry sighs, too tired to protest on his sister's well-being. He turns and slowly trudges to the sofa, which is now his temporary bed in case anything happens and Charice has to wake him up immediately so they can escape.

He lies down on the sofa, but he can barely close his right eye, let along his left. He left is swelled open to the size of a golf ball, red and puffy around the edges, and his vision out of that eye completely obscured. The reason he can't close his right eye is because all at once, the shooting starts. Berry stands up, alert.
"Time to go." Charice says. "C'mon, Berry, let's go."

Berry gets his knapsack, camouflage green with his clothes, and Charice gets her knapsack and pulls on her camouflage hat, making her appear a boy.

The two are hardly at the back door, on the other side of the house, when the front one opens. Berry turns around, raises his gun, and shoots. He doesn't need any telling--it's the U.S. military. They've found him.

Charice lifts her gun and shoots at them, too. A soldier with dirt-smeared skin falls to the floor. Another soldier points right at Charice, shoots. Charice barely makes it to the other side of the room. She pulls Berry behind her, and, ever so slowly, Berry inches towards the door...he's feet from it - he swings it open.

"Go!" Berry hears Charice yell. "Please go, I'll be there in a second!"
A soldier says something in a different language and shoots at Charice's chest. She falls to the floor, and Berry looks in horror as blood seeps from her chest.

"Oh no." He murmurs, but, then, without warning, the same soldier who shot Charice aims at Berry, and the bullet hits him in his left arm. Everything is dark.
