Benefits and Techniques on How To Do Meditation

Learning how to meditate is the same idea among many different cultures and religions. This holds true in every aspect of practicing meditation, from learning how to breathe properly, proper posture, when to meditate, choosing the correct place, planning your meditation and understanding our thoughts and emotions. When you are just learning how to meditate don't worry too much about every little thing. It will take effort and the will to experience an enlightening and blissful meditation as you begin to unfold the many layers that define who you think you are and experience the wonderful benefits of meditation. It is important that you learn how to meditate the correct way to get the most from your meditation experience.
Choose Your Environment
Find a place that is quiet and free from distractions and noise. You may choose a place in your home that fits this criterion as long as the room gives you a good feeling and is secluded enough to allow you to spend at least twenty minutes uninterrupted. The spot you choose will start to absorb the vibration you create during your meditations so if at first you don't have a perfect spot don't worry you will be programing the area you choose. This will help you to reach a deeper state of relaxation in a shorter amount of time as you continue to program your meditation area
When Should You Meditate
Try to choose the same time to meditate each day. I find that the morning works best for me because I haven't been overwhelmed with my daily chores and duties. Our daily responsibilities put us under a lot of stress and the demands make it harder for us to have an effective meditation when we try to sit and relax. If you want your day to be more joyful and relaxing be consistent with your morning meditations.
Choose Your Meditation Plan
When learning how to meditate it's important to have a good plan. To have a productive meditation it is a good idea to be in the right frame of mind. Meditating as soon as you get home from a long day is not a good idea because it will take the better part of your meditation just trying to calm down. Your meditation would be more productive if you went for a walk to help you unwind first. If you are tired than maybe you can take a cool shower or even an energizing fresh fruit drink. It is very important to approach your meditations with the best mindset and will help you get the most out of your meditations.
Best Position
The best position is to be seated with a straight back. Sit on the floor on a cushion or in a chair that has a straight back. imagine the energy traveling from the ground through your body and out through your head. Envision an invisible cord attached to your head, which is pulling your body upright. This trick will help allow the energy to flow through your body unrestricted
Place your hands on you thighs and relax your fingers relieving all tension in your arms and hands. Tuck you chin downwards and begin to relax you jaw and your tongue. Rest your tongue against the roof of your mouth or up against your upper teeth while keeping your mouth open slightly. With half open eyes look out and relax your vision by seeing but not really focusing on anything. Put yourself in a state similar to that of a trance where you are aware but not aware at all. It is the same way in which we deal with any sounds: you hear the sounds but you don’t pay attention to the sounds. They become a background symphony for the experience of the meditation, having no more significance than the background sounds we hear and ignore all day long.

When you start to learn how to meditate you will notice that your mind is jumping wildly from thought to thought as our minds struggle to gain control once more. You must learn to let go of these thoughts and center your attention on your breath. To remain focused on your meditation it is a good idea to count your breaths. As you breathe deep into your belly and then breathe out consider this a count of one. Start by counting a series of 15 to 20 breaths, this will be long enough to help you to silence your monkey mind. As you breathe in imagine yourself breathing prana energy in and as you breath out picture all your tension and stress being released with each breath. Pranic energy is the all pervasive universal energy. Learn to tap into the universal source of energy by imagining breathing in pranic energy.
You are reaching that place within where you are in control of your body and thoughts. A world where you are in control of your fate and your happiness. You are beginning to relax and experience what it means to be in a basic state of goodness and peace, a boundless place of deep understanding and serenity. A level of consciousness that shows you that you are more than you think you are. You are a divine being and are limitless and only bound by the physical and mental restraints you place on yourself.
