Chapter Three - Alexander
I woke up the next day to a weird siren sound. I looked over at my alarm clock. 6:47 am. I looked to my left and my window was open which was why I heard so much noise. I pulled the covers off myself and stumbled to the window to close it, but once I got there, I think that there was someone else in the window; a boy. I looked harder, but the image wasn't in my head, he was actually there. It was like he sensed me looking, so he turned his head and he was standing right there. His features fell on me in a bundle. The thing was, he looked just like me. He had the same wavy looking black hair, and from what I could see his eyes were light, maybe blue or something.
We stood standing there until he put up a hand as to wave at me. I smiled slightly and waved back. He held pointed down as to mean go somewhere, I think. I raised an eyebrow and he did it again and made his fingers bounce like to mean go downstairs. I slapped a hand over my forehead in embarrassment. I motioned swiveling over my mouth like brushing my teeth, and then held up ten fingers. He smiled and nodded graciously.
I ran to the bathroom and ran a brush through my hair at the same time I was trying to brush my teeth. After that, I walked into my room, threw on a hangover sweater, some gray boots, grabbed my phone and walked downstairs.
My sister, Elizabeth was sitting there drinking coffee. "Morning," I said going to the cabinet and getting a granola bar.
She looked up at me. "Oh hey. You're up early." I shrugged as I got a water bottle out of the fridge and sat down in front of her. "What are you doing?"
"I was um... about to go for a jog."
"Hmm. Sounds promising." I smiled as she drank her coffee. I stood up about to leave. "Your show last night was nice. You and Ian make a cute team."
I smiled. "He thinks the same." I heard her chuckle once I approached the front door.
I walked outside with a granola bar and a water bottle. The wind was blowing mighty hard, so I did my best to keep it out of my eyes. I looked to the right at the house that was so beautiful and so gorgeous. He was walking out and flipping a bottle in his hand. He went to one of the moving trucks and said something and the movers laughed. Then he turned toward my house and smiled when he saw me. We both met each other halfway across the lawn. Up close, I was stunned to see his face. He and I shared similar features. Same black hair, same gray eyes.
"You are like the girl mirror image of me," he said pointing his half full water bottle at me. I smiled.
"I was thinking exactly the same thing. Go figure."
"I'm Alexander Sommers." He turned around and pointed at his house. "Of course you can tell that we just moved in next door."
"I'm Briana McArthur. I live there." I smiled. "But you knew that already."
He nodded. "Naw, I was completely oblivious." I smiled. "For some reason, you look sooo familiar."
I shrugged knowing that he had seen my web show probably at least once in his lifetime. "Everyone says that." He eyed me for a bit longer and then he just turned around and faced his house. "Where are you from?"
"Tennessee."
"Woooahhh. What made you move all the way here to Willowsburg? That must have been a hard move."
"My dad's job got transferred. It wasn't hard. People hated me anyway." Before I could respond, he turned around and said, "You have a web show don't you?"
A smile formed on my face as I crossed my arms to shelter the cold. I nodded. "Yeah. That's where you probably know me from."
"This is unfucking believable!" He screamed. "You have that friend Ian, right?" I nodded. "BULLSHIT!" He ran his hands through his hair and then looked back at me. "You're sooo much beautiful in person."
I laughed. "Aw. Thanks."
He calmed down a little and drank some of his water. "Sorry. I just never thought that I would meet you. You're just really beautiful."
"Thanks. I'd hug you, but I really smell cause I forgot to shower last night." He laughed.
"It's fine. It is fine. Just knowing who you are makes my day." Something was awfully weird about him, but in a good way.
"ALEXANDER!" Alexander looked behind him and so did I. A husky boy without a shirt ran over towards us both. I swear it was like watching Baywatch cause it felt like he was going in slow motion just to come over here.
Alexander sighed and looked at me. "That's my step brother Kaleb." Kaleb approached.
"I thought that you were getting boxes," he said looking at me and then at Alexander. "Well I guess you found something much more worthwhile."
"Don't be a dick," Alexander said rolling his eyes.
Kaleb smiled and then looked over at me. "Well aren't you gonna introduce me to your new little friend?" He asked waving his hand around.
Before I could respond, Alexander spoke up. "Kaleb this is Briana McArthur, she lives next door."
Kaleb smiled. "Nice meeting you."
"Wish I could say the same." I heard Kaleb began to chuckle just as my phone began to ring. I turned to answer it. "Hello?"
"Hey babe, I'm on my way."
"Oh hey Ian. I'm not ready yet."
"I know. I'm coming a bit earlier than expected. My dad and mom were fighting and I had to get outta there."
"Oh, I'm sorry. What time is it anyway?"
"Just 7:10. I'm on the road, I'll be there in a minute okay?"
"Kay." I hung up and turned around. "Sorry."
"No worries," Alexander said.
"I have to go and get dressed for school. My ride is almost here."
"What school?" Kaleb asked crossing his arms.
"Jefferson High."
"Go figure. We start our first day there today."

I showered and then put my hair up in a curly mess and made my bangs straight. I walked back into my room and looked over my clothes before I settled on a high black skirt, a white shirt, some minimal accessories and my black sandals. When I looked into the mirror, I felt beautiful.
Ian walked in and smiled at me. "You actually look like you're happy for a change." I rolled my eyes as I grabbed my bag and threw it over my shoulder.
We walked downstairs, and I kissed my mom's head and my dad's cheek and I bid my goodbye to them all. Once we walk outside, I look to my left and notice that all the moving trucks are gone and the house looks completely empty.
"You know that house has people that live in it right?" I asked as we both walked to his car.
"Really? When did they get in?" He asked unlocking the doors.
I shrugged as we got into his car. "I'm not sure, but they were here, this morning. Alexander and Kaleb. Step brothers."
"How do you know?"
"Well I met them." He gave me this weird look. "Well, hey, the only way to make friends it to talk to them and that's what I did."
"So you think you need new friends?" He gave me this uncomfortable glance and then looked back at the road.
"Ian, c'mon. You know it's not like that."
He just shifted in his seat and gave me the silent treatment.
