Being A Man Like Saint - Chapter Four
Undertaking the plan...
On the drive to the party, V was dead silent. She listened to Damien as he discussed his ingenious plan. It was good he was her partner in this mission. No one else would have been able to think about it as he had. She knew his plan would work but she had to bend the rules and do it her own way. The car stopped in front of a dazzling mansion and V stared at it. "Alright then. I decided something. We're keeping our names and we will act as people interested in the business world. Mr. Millets is well knowledgeable in the business world." V said with as she stepped out of the extravagant sports car.
Damien followed suit and rushed over to her. She smiled over at him and her black curls swished onto her shoulder. He held his hand out to her and she took it slowly. "What's your real name? From the day I met you more than 14 years ago, you insisted I call you V. That must stand for something." Damien whispered into her ear. She chuckled lightly and shook her head. "Good observation. Don't you think it's out of the blue? C'mon Damien, 14 years and now you ask? It's embarrassing to say but my name's Valentina Clayton."
She said stubbornly. Damien stifled a laugh and she slapped his arm lightly. "That's an interesting name for you. You don't even like romantic things yet you have a romantic name." Damien said as they walked into the house. "I like romance; I just don't act as other women do about it. I have an important job and I have things to worry about besides from which guy is my latest lover." She said as they walked by groups of people. "Really?
That's quite hard to believe. We'll talk about this later. Right now I see our suspect. Hold on tight love." He said as he snaked his arm onto her waist. V smiled and let him guide her to the dance floor. He pulled her close and she felt his breath on her neck. "Lead the way." She said as the music started. There was a minimum of people swaying about slowly. Step by step, he led her to a sashay of slow moves.
As they moved elegantly around the floor, V kept track of Xavier. She took note of the tall sensual blonde next to him. The blonde clung to his arm and V felt as if Damien's plan would bust. "He already has a woman linked onto him. What now?" she asked as he twirled her about. "Just go with it. I'll distract the girl; you go for the kill shot. I mean, you've turned some heads. Even good old Xavier has stared at you. Now just stick with the plan." He said as the song ended. He pulled her off the dance floor and they walked close to their suspect.
As if on cue, the blonde walked away from the suspect. Damien gave V a quick nod and she walked toward them. With a champagne glass in hand, she walked behind Xavier and bumped into him lightly. Her champagne glass tipped and spilled a small amount onto her clothing. He turned around and eyed V with desire. "I'm so sorry. You know how it gets when you dance around too much. My feet keep moving to the last dance. Oh look, I spilled on you." V said in a bubbly tone. Damien watched from afar and looked as she laid a hand on him softly. He chuckled lightly and knew his plan was going to work. "Oh really? That's fine then. Who am I to not forgive?" Xavier said with a flirtatious grin. Inside, V felt like spitting on the guy. She knew how to flirt. Hell she was amazing at it yet this guy wouldn't feel her full blown innuendos. He was a delusional guy who thought he was God's biggest gift to women and that was one of her biggest turn offs. "I should fix that.
Come with me would you?" she said as she pointed to the wet spot on his jacket and took hold of his hand. He followed her without hesitation and Damien watched as they walked up the grand staircase. Damien placed his earpiece in her ear and turned on the wires. Walking away from his spot he listened to V talk in her soft tone. This wasn't part of his plan. As he heard her say the key word, he bolted out of the grand room and up the stairs, hoping nothing went wrong.
