As a coworker start by supporting others in the company and helping them out when they need it.
Use your actions to speak louder than your words. This goes a long way and people seem to notice positive actions rather than over powering voices. Staying late and coming in early to go the extra mile is always noticed by others in your business. You may find some people who think you are over doing it, but that simply is not the case. Be supportive of other coworkers. It is the little things that you will be noticed by.
If you think you have what it takes to one day be a leader in your business, or in business in general then a great way to learn is to find a mentor. Whether it is someone you work with or someone outside of business all together, it is a great way to learn from other people as to how they go about being a leader.
Once you have become a leader in your business be an effective leader. Do not become power hungry and lose perspective of what who you are and what you are doing. Become effective and continue to lead by example.
Not everyone is made to be a leader whether it is in business or outside of business. But, for those who feel they are meant to lead and lead effectively it is something that you have to let come to you. Never rush trying to lead, and allow your actions to speak louder than your words.
