Beginners Tips on Scrapbooking Supplies

Just a few things to know before you start preserving your memories.
If you fell in love with your friends’ scrapbooks and decided that you have to make one yourself, there are some tips you need to keep in mind. You might be a little amazed when you first enter the supply store and you will probably commit the error of buying things you don’t need. To avoid this, all you have to do is to make a list of things you need before you go shopping.

We will offer through this article some tips that will definitely help you in the process of scrapbook making.

You need to figure out what size of album you want. If you define the size before buying it, things will be easier because you will avoid searching through hundreds of models. If your theme requires a lot of space you will need a bigger album so establishing the type of theme is very important. People who are into scrapbooking have all types of scrapbooks but for the beginning you only need one size.

Refill the album you make - at one point you will probably need to refill the album so make sure you buy some refills to avoid looking for the same manufacturer in the future because you don’t have refills anymore. Make sure that you get the refills from the same manufacturer otherwise they might not match the ones in your album.

There are many typos of adhesives on the market but not all are a great option for your album because some may even damage the paper. Our selection of good adhesives include: Glue Dots, Mod Podge, Triple Thick, EZ, 3D Dots, or Xyron.

Scissors - You need to have very sharp scissors and be sure that you buy scissors only for scrapbook using. Don’t take your mother’s scissors from the kitchen because, if the scissors don’t cut well, you might damage your whole scrapbook.

The Importance of Paper - If you want a beautiful scrapbook the paper is very important. You have to be very careful so that the paper you choose matches your color theme. Or you can try and use different colored papers for a more dramatic effect to your scrapbook.

Pens - Make sure that you buy acid free pens or permanent ones to avoid any chemical reactions that might erase photos or artwork from your scrapbook. Be very careful because usually these things cause the most damage.

Make sure that you buy all the basic materials first and leave any additional or unimportant materials for later. You have to focus first on buying high quality scrapbook materials.
