Before the Storm - Prologue
They had what you might call true love--But now, it's o v e r, and all she can do is mourn over memories of Before the Storm.....
Her heart’s broken.
It’s not something she wants to acknowledge.
Because acknowledging meant she accepted what fate had given her. Because acknowledging meant she’d given up. Because acknowledging meant that they truly were over…
The pounding of the rain against the ground isn’t exactly helping her, either. The scene is being portrayed just like some movie in Hollywood might be. She’s hardly visible, her blue jacket blending in with the pelting rain and ominous looking sky. With one glance back, she stumbled her way back to her car.
When she finally manages to get the car door open and crashes into her seat, she can feel her tears threatening to fall. She bites her lip, willing herself to stay strong. Because she can’t break down. Because she shouldn’t. Because she won’t.
She doesn’t know where her driving will take her. She doesn’t even know where she’s going. All she knows is that it’s important to go. That it’s crucial to go. And no matter how much she may not want to, it was something that she needed.
A tall building passes by. Then another. And yet another. A coffee shop. A Staples. A café. A playground. A school.
And then, she reaches her destination. It’s just a tiny, old park. It looks like any other park, complete with the grass and bench. But for her, it stored the memory of when they had first met.
It’s not anything she wants to remember. Not now, when they’d just…
But something in her is determined. Determined to face what had been going on for the past months. Determined to reminisce over the old memories, and then learn to let go. Because she knows, she knows how hard it will be to let go. Let go of everything they’d been through. Let go of all those kisses, those hugs, those bubbly feelings he gave her. For now, all she wants to is to never forget. And soon, she found herself slipping into the memories labeled "Before the Storm"…
