Bedroom Furniture - Interior Design Tips
In today’s busy world, a lot of people forget to keep their bedroom tastefully designed, yet functional at the same time. Your bedroom should be a representation of your personality, and what better way to express yourself then through furniture? Depending on what pieces you choose for your bedroom, you can instantly turn it into a stylish, practical space.

The first step to a purposeful bedroom is spending your money where it counts. Don’t blow your budget on a trendy piece of home décor – try investing in a solid wood bed, a high quality memory foam mattress, or high thread count sheets. A luxurious, well-made bed will last you a lifetime, and you’ll be getting a good night’s sleep in the process. So save up your budget for a high-end sleeping space, and spend less on trendy items that are destined to go out of style.

If you’re sharing your bedroom with a significant other, make sure you both agree on the colours and patterns you infuse into your bedroom. The room should be a balance of both your styles together in harmony. Also, you should make sure that your items have been split up around the room. For example, with your dresser, one half should be dedicated to you, and the other half for your partner. You don’t want to spend all of your time looking for your clothes when they’re mixed up with another’s.

Do you have a beautiful view from one of the windows in your bedroom? Face your bed in its direction – it’s considered good luck, and you can wake up to a pleasant sight in the morning. If you’re lacking a nice view, face your bed towards a collage of pictures that make you happy. It could be pictures of your family, friends, pets, or shots from a great vacation. If you wake up optimistic in your room, chances are you’ll have a positive day.

Take on a DIY project and construct your own headboard. All you’ll need is a piece of plywood in the shape of your choice, and then staple cushioning and any fabric to it. Try experiments with different headboard shapes, and consider choosing a fabric that’s rich and soft, like microfiber, suede, velvet, or satin. If you like to read in bed, make sure you choose extra-comfortable padding for your headboard so it will be relaxing to lie against.

When it comes to bedroom furniture decor, you have endless possibilities. Start off with a unique lamp, like an arc lamp, that hangs over the center of your bed. You could also consider a chandelier for an elegant look in your bedroom. If your room is on the smaller side, an easy way to open it up is through decorative mirrors. You can sometimes buy mirrors in sets, where you can piece them all together to create a giant mirror, or break up the pieces and spread them around. Mirror sets allow you to show off your creativity. Find an attractive vase and fill it with whatever flower is in season – it will give a current, fresh look to your bedroom.
