Is Your Bed and Breakfast Using A Scrapbook to Help Business?
Learn how using a scrapbook in your bed and breakfast business can help guests feel more at home in your home and your city.
Although I’ve only stayed in a bed and breakfast a few times in my life, I know others who would never stay anywhere but a bed and breakfast. The folks who choose bed and breakfast places over a hotel prefer the quaintness and the one on one contact with someone local. They also prefer breakfast at a kitchen table versus the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant.
If you own a bed and breakfast, have you considered making a scrapbook of your city for your guests to view?
I know one of the challenges I face when visiting a city I’m not familiar with is where to visit. While I can go to websites and get tour books, there is no way to know if this is the right place to visit for me and my family. However, a scrapbook with the hot spots along with a few lines of journaling could indeed make the difference of my visiting versus not visiting the attraction.
Why not take photos of the many attractions both in your city but also in surrounding cities? Why not gather brochures from the many tourist spots and include all of this in a scrapbook?
When you stay in a hotel, there is usually a rack of literature from nearby attractions. How much warmer to sit and flip through a scrapbook and make your choices based on real pictures taken by real people versus making a choice based on a sales brochure.
I also love seeing menus from area restaurants. What about including some photos from the local restaurants along with a menu and your comments in the scrapbook? I don’t mind eating at a small older place, but I want to know that the food is great.
Are there certain shopping areas that tourists wouldn’t know about? Again, finding this information in a scrapbook would be wonderful.
A scrapbook in my room would be such a wonderful addition to my stay in a bed and breakfast.
