Beckham Thieves Arrested by British Police after Items Appear on eBay
The English mansion of David Beckham and Victoria Beckham was recently robbed by its employees, who then put the items up for auction on eBay.
Beckingham Palace, as it is affectionately known to the British press, was recently robbed by employees charged with its care. And while Becks and Posh seem to be spending most of their time in the States these days, it seems a shame that the people left to care for their "other" mansion ended up looting the residence in their absence.
It is being reported that some of the valuables taken from the mansion included designer clothing and accessories belonging to Posh Spice, as well as football (English football) boots and other sportswear belonging to Becks.
The assailants seem to be a 56-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man who had been working in an unknown capacity at the Beckham mansion. Reports are now indicating that the two robbers were caught after some of the stolen merchandise began to appear on the Internet auction site, eBay. That should be a lesson to future looters of the rich and famous. If you’re going to steal from someone with the social status of the Beckhams, or anyone for that matter, you might want to find a less visible outlet for your booty than eBay. While eBay is certainly a convenient way to turn your stolen goods into cash, it’s very unlikely that you’re going to get away with it!
Now the Beckhams must return to England to deal with the various legal issues surrounding the theft and, presumably, fill some open staff positions previously held by thieves. It’s truly sad in today’s day and age that you can’t feel secure leaving your palatial estate in the care of paid help. In the future, I’m sure the Beckhams will take extra care to ensure the safety of their belongings.
