A Beaten Heart
About a relationship that recently ended…
I hold it all back
Deep down inside
It takes all my strength
Not to break down and cry
Because you're not worth the tears

And you’re not worth the years
I've put into this thing
So I lock up my heart
Away on the shelf
Where it can't be broken by somebody else
I need to have time
So it can finally heal
But it's so beaten and bruised
I don't know if it will
