Different Patterns Using Beads

Beading is so much fun. Especially when you are learning to make trendy beaded jewelry, specifically bracelets. In the following article, we're going to use 2 different types of beads, seed and pony, to make the different patterns. Get all the materials mentioned in each steps first, read through the steps, and then begin.

Seed Bead Bracelet
  • Before we begin with the instructions, collect the material: 11 two size beading needles, lobster claw clasp, split ring (used as closure), 11/0 size green (or any other colored) beads, 14 8mm white (or any other colored) beads, 2 8mm French wires, Nymo D green beading thread, and scissors.
  • Thread both Nymo D green beading threads through 2 needles and insert a French wire in the thread.
  • Next goes the lobster claw clasp. Make a loop with both needles to secure it.
  • Now insert 9 size 11/0 seed beads into the threads. You will pass 1st needle in the beads from right to left and then 2nd needle left to right.
  • The threads should be going into all the beads twice. This will form a small loop near the lobster claw clasp.
  • Next you will turn the needles opposite of the clasp, insert 1 8mm white bead in 1st needle, through a seed bead on top, and out.
  • Follow the same step with the 2nd needle as well. Again insert 9 size 11/0 seed beads into the threads, but this time they will be done in the opposite direction.
  • Take 1st needle to go left to right and 2nd needle to go right to left.
  • Repeat the steps till you reach the end of the bracelet.
  • Make another loop with the threads and secure it properly. And that's it, your bracelet is ready.
Pony Bead Bracelet
  • Before we begin with the instructions, collect the material: 10 orange pony beads, 10 green pony beads (heart shaped), 6 white pony beads, two 24 inch long satin cord, and white glue.
  • Hold the 2 satin cords together and tie a secured knot on one side. Go at least 5 inches below the knot and tie another knot.
  • Use white glue to make the other side of the satin cords stiff.
  • Now as written here, place the beads in the similar order. Hold both satin cords together to insert 1 white and 1 green bead.
  • Bring cords apart to insert 1 orange bead in each of them.
  • Again hold both cords together to insert 1 green, 1 white, and 1 green bead.
  • This will make one complete butterfly pattern. Do so with the rest of the pony beads in the similar order.
  • Once you finish, you will have 4 butterflies and 2 half butterflies on the sides.
  • At the end, pull on both cords so that the bracelet is straight and the secure it with another tight knot.
  • If there is extra satin cords remaining, cut them. And that's it, your bracelet is ready.
I hope that as you read the instructions on both the beaded bracelets, you can make them with ease. Try different color combinations with the beads to make more vibrant and attractive bracelets for you and your friends. Enjoy!
