Be Vigilant: Use the Miles from Your Frequent Flyer Credit Card Today

Are you a frequent flyer? Here's the perfect credit card that you can carry around.
The health threat on the (A)H1N1 virus has taken its toll on traveling. It is sad that this happens during the travel season this spring and summer. It is expected that this problem is going to be around for a long time. Surely, all is hoping that this threat will subside very soon.

This threat prevents most people from traveling these days. Because of this, the travel industry is affected. One can just imagine how few people travel through public transportation such as trains and airlines nowadays. This truly affects the financial stability of the company. This was even aggravated when Vice President Biden warned against traveling by train and airline while the health threat is ongoing.

With this case on hand, airlines must be at a low point financially. This may lead to failure to meet their responsibilities regarding the frequent flyer credit card. This means that they may not be able to support free trips to those who have accumulated points via the program. After all, frequent flyer credit cardholders are considered creditors who have the right to make future claims.

If you are one of the many who have accumulated points on your frequent flyer credit card, this would be the time to claim them, even if you do not necessarily have to use them on trips. Yes, the airline might have been affected by the health threat but at least there is still no confirmation that the airline industry is in bad shape. Just do not wait for that time to come so better claim the miles while you can.

Some accumulated miles in frequent flyer credit card can be exchanged for other goods and services aside from free trips. In American Express for instance, you can use the points to get free clothes from Gap or Land's Ends. There are also other programs that let you use the points in exchange for free hotel accommodations.

With the health threat going on, it is recommended to steer clear of using frequent flyer cards for a while. If only these points could be sold, then there would not be any problem as to using these cards. However, we just do not know when this threat will end and it is obvious that it is affecting not just the travelers but the financial capacity of the carriers as well.

This would make it more difficult to claim any points in the future. Anyway, there are other reward programs offered to credit cardholders, such as discounts or cash rebates, and this would be the better option for the meantime.
