Be Specific with Your Desires when Working with the Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction is based on specific pictures of what you want. Work on your picture to bring it to your life.
I recall waking up one day a few years ago and asking myself why I didn’t have what I wanted. It was a few years back and I had a graduate degree, but wanted my Masters. I had a decent job, but wanted a job I loved. I had a nice condo, but wanted a house. In the midst of this a good friend of mine stopped me blind when he said, "You have been so negative lately!" He wasn’t a close friend who I spent a lot of time with, but he was a good friend who I saw every other week or so. It was a surprise that he made that kind of statement when I hadn’t even noticed negative thoughts in myself.

I sat down and thought about it and realized that I was being negative. I wasn’t happy with my degree, job or house and instead of setting my mind on the intention of changing it, decided to become 1) ambivalent about it and 2) negative about it. How far did I really expect this to get me?

Fast forward to the change. I set out on, number one, deciding exactly what I wanted. When I said "I want a job I love", I had no clue what that meant. I know that I was always good with math, but did I want to sit at a desk calculating all day? Probably not. I took some time to assess myself and (strangely enough) came up with a writer as a career. I gave it a try and realized that I was good at it. I enjoyed it. I loved the idea of learning and researching a different topic for every assignment. Each job let to a wide variety of topics. I found the job I loved.

I also said that I wanted my Masters. Well - that isn’t going to happen with me sitting at home complaining. So, I signed up. Fifteen short months later I was rushing to my graduation to get my Master’s degree. I can’t tell you how many days were spent writing more papers and researching new topics, but it all paid off.
The "home" thing, I’m still working on. But I know that the process to getting it will be the same - get out there, have a clear picture of what you want, search and it will come. So in the end, getting what you want is:

- Form the exact picture of what you want • Believe that it is possible to achieve
- Act on it

These are the steps to getting what you want.
