Be My Valentine

A little valentine poem…
So many times you walked on by without saying a word.
I looked at you and sent a simple smile your way.
Today is Valentine's Day.
Loser I am I wasn't expecting anything.
I opened my locker and out fell a bouquet.
A little card was attached.
I never once said a word to you in the hall.
I was the cool one you were the loser.
My friends would disapprove of my feelings for you.
So I ask you to be my valentine.
I smiled with happiness.
I knew what to do.
You were my neighbor so it wouldn't be hard to do.
After school I ran to your house and gave you a hug and a kiss.
In your ear I whispered be my valentine, Please.
That was ten years ago.
Every Valentine’s Day since you have been my valentine.
Now our daughter has the same problem.
I wonder if someone will ask her to be his valentine.
I love you my Valentine.
