Festivals of various nature from social to religious ones are meant for creating charm in our lives which we celebrate in the entire year on regular intervals. We always look for some of the best festivities to make a difference in our lives. Most of the festivals are an outcome of some religious faith, social norms and or portrayal of regional flavor. Its wondrous impact is in its scary practices. In the Irish tradition, this festival is called Samhain (or Syawn). It is significant due to the timing when harvesting season concludes. Having been derived from a typical theme, celebration of Halloween is actually a protective shield from evil spirits which invade peace of living beings on this special day at a time when the layer between dead and alive become thin and evil spirits try to enter in the human world for creating devastation. Although it is celebrated in much fun no authenticity of its belief is searched by now.

These spirits who do cross over is belief to be from those who are restless, departed when they are still not ready, and most often categorized as evil. Their crossing over would bring with them sickness and famine, destroying crops and causing the living to get sick. To avoid this, the religious chiefs of old would make offerings from the skeletal remains of farm animals, thrown into bonfires to assuage these restless spirits. Why these spirits do not instead ask for the whole animal instead is often moot question. The followers of these religious chiefs meanwhile would wear masks depicting these spirits as to confuse them from leaving the bonfire, located at these points where the boundaries rent asunder.

Although the age old custom of wearing scary and ghoulish costumes is in the trend hardly any religious ritual is practiced now. It is a favorable business season for the costume manufacturers who keep selling their products in upward business prospect. The range of costumers varies from different age groups wanting nothing but an enjoyable Halloween night. Although wearing scary costumes depict olden trend to ‘keep the evil spirits away,’ nothing such is performed in actuality. Then, why don’t these young geeks be kept away, ha, ha. The participants, particularly the youngsters present sweets, chocolates and confectioneries unlike the traditional animal skeletons which none want to find out.

Do they? Not really, of course. Some adults have their own Halloween's party and being adults, these parties would often be laced with a good dose of adult orientation, including sexual elements, thus Halloween sexy costumes are a must for the celebrants. With a good range of costumes to choose from, one would be hard pressed to not be able to find something that would suit the occasion.
