Be A Hero Of Faith

World has His heroes, God has his own, who will you belong too? But what is a hero of faith? To be a hero of the faith you must win the battle of the faith.
In the Bible there are mentioned several people whose faith made God speak well of their offerings, and by faith they ware commended as a righteous people. Now we call these people heroes. The most wonderful thing is that those people are perfectly normal, just like you and me but The Bible mentions their faith.

The definition of a hero sounds like this: a hero is a person who does great things in his life. "A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life".

Heroes are referred to men or women that knew how to face risks and hardships in their lives and knew the most important ingredient: God’s presence with them as they were accomplishing God’s plans.

To be hero of faith we must see first the meaning o faith: " Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see". (Hebrews11:1). Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. To be sure of something we hope and to be certain things that are not seen, is not too common in our days because we want exactly the opposite! We want to see and touch and afterwards we believe.

It is hard to believe because things we need faith for, are not seen. Faith is based on God’s promises. "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ" (Romans 10:17).
Once we come to hear the word of Christ, faith becomes alive and it demands action to make it complete. Faith is pleasing God.

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him". (Hebrews 11:6)

A look at the faith of God’s heroes presented in Hebrews chapter 11, shows the importance of walking by faith not only believing.

By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice, than Cain, his brother.

Enoch was translated and he didn’t see death because he had this testimony that he pleased God.

Noah in his time had never seen rain before building the arch, yet, by faith, he moved and prepared the arch despite all the gossip of the people around him. Do we have moments when people around us are gossiping our works, because they were done according Biblical principles?

If we do, then let’s do what Noah did, in obedience he saved his house and become hair of the righteousness, which is by faith.

When we look at Abraham, another hero, we are amazed to see his progressing faith and obedience: he went without knowing where, but believing God he was looking for a city whose builder and maker was God. He was a pilgrim and a worshipper he had an altar and a tent.

Isaac and Jacob’s testimonies demonstrated the promises of faith concerning Abraham descendants.

Joseph’s story is well known with all his struggles and injustice he had to endure because he followed God’s principles.

Moses "when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time".

And what more shall I say, will be our names between heroes of the faith?
Will God be pleased with us and our faith? Our days are not different than theirs, we are still mistreated along with the people we work, when we do not enjoy and do not choose to be part of the pleasures of sin for a short time.

"For in just a very little while, He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him. But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved". (Hebrews 10:37-39)
