Battling Waters (1) -The Rescue

What happens if you mix a Prince, a Pirate and his strong headed daughter, a rival, a quest for treasure and a long lost friend together? Love, hate, passion, battles, fights, and a lot of drama.
"Lucinda Gabriela Ribeiro! Get immediately down from there!" Captain Roberto Ribeiro's dark eyes are filled with anger as he watches his only daughter sitting at the top of the Main Topmast.
Lucinda sighs and grabs the long pole.
As she slides down Roberto takes a deep breath and quickly closes his eyes. He may be tall, strong and muscular. He even may have survived almost all the diseases on sea and fought almost all the pirates on the ocean. But his daughter will one day be the reason why he is 6 feet under.
He knows that he is overprotective but she is all that he's got. He's wife passed away when Lucinda was only 4 years old.
And now she is a beautiful young woman.
With her long dark brown hair that ends in the middle of her back and her small busty short form, she's her mother's spit and image.
But the most strapping thing that always captivates you is definitely her dark brown eyes. When she looks at you it feels like she looks through you into your soul.
Roberto has light brown hair and his eyes are the color of hazelnuts. The only thing Lucy seemed to have gotten from her father was his short temper.
"Ai Papa. Why do you always worry so much? I'm a big girl. I can look after myself. Besides, I love the peace and quiet up there. It's the only place I can always clear my mind."
Lucinda gives her father a big hug and smiles happily.
Roberto sighs. He can never stay angry at her.
"Lucy, just promise me you will be careful."
"Promise."
The first mate, Juan, comes running towards them.
"Captain! Two ships north-east! Battling!"
In a millisecond all the crew members are standing at the side of the ship trying to see.
"Juan, can you see which ships it is?"
"Ai Captain! One from France and the other one is the Blackheart!"
"Juan, get the sails ready. Let's go, give the French a hand."
All the crew members start laughing and go to their positions. Lucy's already at the Main Topmast.
This is the best viewing point and while they are far from the danger, she could stay here.
Roberto's ship's name is the Fighting Angel and the Blackheart are their rivals.
As they neared the battle Lucy could clearly see that the French was losing.
Almost the whole crew was murdered and bodies were spread all over the Main Deck.
She sat there in horror as she saw all the blood. Death was in the air. You could almost smell the fear.
She hurriedly slide down the pole and stood next her father.
"Papa, they're madmen! How can they plunder people like this? What about the Code? They can't go against the code like that?!"
"Lucy, what are you doing here? Go to the Cabin. I don't want to see you here. Is that correct?"
Lucy look shocked at her father.
"Papa, you can't be serious?!"
"Yes I am. Now go! Or do you want to face the consequences"
Angry and hurt, she goes to the Captain's cabin.
This is so not fair! I usually help! Heck, I'm better with a sword than half of these imbeciles. How can he do that to me? I'm his daughter! How can he threaten me?
Unfortunately for Lucy she doesn't know that her father was scared for her life.
As Roberto saw what the Blackheart did to the crew, he thought of his daughter and the danger. No pirate went against the Code. That can only mean they are past the point of thinking clearly and fighting a fair battle.
As the Fighting Angel near the battle the pirates of the Blackheart start to panic. The only other ship capable of winning a fight against the Blackheart, is the Fighting Angel.
Roberto waves his hands above his head.
"Don! Stop immediately!"
The Blackheart's Captain, Don, gives a smirk. He's a tall muscular man with blond hair and gray eyes. He also has a cut running from his eye down to his chin, caused by one of the many battles he was in with the Fighting Angel.
"Roberto! My dear friend. Where's your pretty daughter? I haven't seen her for almost 4 years! She must be 20 years now, right? Are you hiding her from me?"
Don shook his head.
"Tsk tsk. That isn't very nice."
"Don, stop the crap and get your ass out of here! I'm warning you. And surrender your hostages!"
"Roberto! Don't you think you're overreacting?"
"Don, retreat NOW!"
Don and Roberto glare for each other and finally they left the few hostages go free over the plank between the two ships. When all the hostages were on the Fighting Angel, Roberto turned to Don.
"This is the last time you behave like this. If I ever see this kind of behavior again, believe me, that day will be your last."
Don looked at Roberto, anger in his eyes with just a touch of fear. He turns around and start to order his crew to retreat.
"Believe me Roberto, when we meet again you shall pay dearly for this!"
After the Blackheart is out of sight Roberto turns toward the hostages.
"Now that is sorted out, you can tell me why he was after you."
A young lad about 16 years step forward.
"We know nothing sir. All we know is that we were sailing and got ambushed."
"Is that so?"
Roberto walks past each member and looks them in the eye.
He stops in front of one man, in his early twenties. He looks him up and down, from his light brown hair, blue eyes, the color of the sky, and his muscular form. All in all a strapping young man.
"You."
In the blue eyes he see the pride. Roberto smiles. Yes, this one is the one.
"Now YOU tell me what happened. And even though I saved your life I can easily change my mind and take it away."
The young man looks bravely into Roberto's eyes.
Roberto is amused and then starts to laugh.
"Young man, you are very brave. Do you know who you are standing in front of?"
"Of course," says the deep voice "you're the legendary Pirate Captain Roberto Julian Ribeiro."
"And?"
"It's an honor to meet you sir. You are well-known."
"Thank you lad. But please, stop the games. Who are you?"
"I am..." The young man seems a bit weary to tell but gives in.
He lifts his head up and looks Roberto direct in the eyes.
"I am Prince Jason Le Crescaint the 4th of France. Next in line to rule."
Do you think it's interesting and do you want me to continue? I'm kind of new to this whole thing.
