Battery Recycling - A Way To Curb Pollution

Lead battery recycling can be a matter of diminishing extremely harmful water and soil pollution caused due to lead used in batteries.
Lead has become a necessary part of our life as it has numerous features as compared to other metals. Lead is one of the most commonly used metals, being used in manufacturing of lead based products or as ingredients of the many actual products.

Today the annual production of lead is about eight million tones. Peru, USA, China, Australia, Sweden, Morocco are one of the leading countries who are involved into maximum lead production. We can find lead in every aspects of life whether it is inside the home or outside. Most of the famous civilizations have the history of using lead in their lives as ornaments or other structural things.

Due to lead’s important uses it can’t be avoided or ignored. Lead has a unique properties and characteristic to be used in various manufacturing or manufacturing processes. The most common use of lead today is to manufacture automotive, industrial and domestic batteries. It’s been a very important factor in today’s lead-acid battery manufacturing. These batteries give power in various situation and condition. Three basic uses of lead-acid battery are to give start to our vehicles, power to electrically operated vehicles and when power fails it powers our offices, hospitals, homes and many of the places in emergency.

Many of us are still not aware of the fact about the dangers of lead in our lives. We have been exposing ourselves to lead for many a century as it is easy to extract and a widespread metal. Now time has come to have a think on its disadvantages. Lead has both merits and demerits.

Demerits are associated with our health aspects. Consumption of lead in any form and exposure to it causes many health problems. It can cause serious health problems to both animals and us. It is considered as a poisonous metal if taken can affect our nervous system, kidneys, reproduction, bones and cause brain disorder as well. It causes harmful environmental pollution. Both soil and water are being spoiled by the uses of lead in paints, solder, fuel etc.

Government has taken a correct step to curb out the toxic effects of lead at a large scale. Few years ago, when the dangers of lead in our lives was observed clearly by the scientists and environmentalists, the government took a strict action to reduce the effect of lead on our health up to the some extent. We had been using lead in petrol also for many years to make the engine smoother before the action was taken by the government.

Many industrialists came forward to recycle the lead wastes especially lead battery recycling was at high priority. By recycling the lead battery waste and scrap, they thought, environment can be saved for the future generation. Those who run authorized battery recycling plants, pay off for the spent or used batteries they get from any source.

Recycling of the lead based used or spent products especially lead-acid batteries can be a factor to reduce pollution to the some extent. Battery recycling aims to lessen the contamination of both the water and soil from the lead based products. Recycling of lead-acid batteries helps reducing the mining and extraction of new lead. The more it will be mined or manufactured the more it will be present on our earth. So it is very important that to use the already existing lead (lead scrap or lead wastes).

In India there are many recycling plants providing an unequaled battery recycling service. They have their own lead scrap melting furnaces where they recycle the lead based batteries. These lead battery recycling plants have their own state of art machines and equipments to recycle lead battery scrap or wastes into reusable lead and other substances.

Battery Recycling can diminish the dangers of environmental pollution for our up coming generation and the survivals of present.
